I prefer wizards on CC... Dragon is the best defense... but take so many spaces and not many friends donate it except you have second id who donate yourself all the time.
Dragon vs archers.... dragon burn 1 archer... 19 around it shoot.
Dragon vs minion.... dragon burn 1 minion 9 around it shoot.
The dragon is easily the best troop, but not for those reasons.
On defense-
Splash damage, can take out giants and even hogs. Clumps of tier 1 troops will be wasted.
High DPS, allowing for quicker destruction of troops with high hp.
High hp, so it's not gonna get killed off by one kamikaze wizard.
Targets both air and ground troops.
Does wonders against lower lvl dragons.
Lightning and freeze spells have no effect.
"I it can easily get lured out and killed." Yeah? Same with every other troop, except the healer.
On offense-
Destroys everything, allowing not only for 50% raids, but due to its high hp and DPS, two star raids as well.
Fairly predictable AI(like every other unit).
Complements any raiding strategy very well.
Costly, but not beyond any other trophy-pushing strategy.
Relatively low housing space, allowing even more dragons or other troops in your raid.
"Susceptible to air defense and seeking air mines." Air defense is really it's only weakness, but every troop has one. It's up to the raider to find his way around them.
If you disagree with me, take all things into consideration, not just your troop's strength. All things considered, the dragon is the best and most reliable troop in the game.
If 1 vs 1 were fair, drags would only occupy one housing space. This is a little silly.Quote:

They certainly have the highest cost per troop space, barring dark elixir because i dont know how to equate that with elixir.
Still, as someone who has been primarily barching lately, i tend to make people regret having a dragon in the cc. Its one of the easiest kite and kills if youve got a pile of archers on you.
Not trying to argue one way or another about the best troop in the game because i think the discussion is pointless. Its way too situational to make any sort of judgment calls. Ive had 8 drags 20 minions and rage spells at times i wish i just had a quick barcher army and vice versa... There are times i wish i had a dragon in the cc, other times i wish i had wizards, other times all archers...
Sure, 1v1 a drag might kill every other troop in the game (though apparently not a witch), but thats a pretty impractical factoid... So what?
When I see drag pop out of a CC, it makes me laugh. I just send in a swarm of minions, and they dispatch it very easily.Quote:

I think you have to consider the defensive structures that exist. There are 4 AD's that will ONLY target the Dragon (unless Minions are present) and two Air Mines that will ONLY target the Dragon (regardless of minion presence). This really weakens the Dragons. Where as with ground troops, there are multiple targets for the defensive structures to target and none of them pump out 200+ damage per second (except the Inferno when it charges).
Wizards are the best troops in the game. Dragon in cc, even if i out 10 archers in the same place it never takes more than 1 each time. So i can hardly think of it as a splash damage troop. In defense, Wizards would wipe out giants in 5 seconds. A dragon would vanish in few hits and even a pekka is useless against them.
