Please crituque my Town Hall 7 base

I am a recent TH7, so most of my upgrades are still in the works. I have based this setup on 184letsburnitdown's adaptation of The Mantis posted by Heizenbrg.

In the central core my DE storage is currently being built. One of the builders on the west side of the base is busy installing a Hidden Tesla while the other builder is upgrading a bomb. Here is my setup:

I have done fairly well, with most attacks coming from the east or west. There has been two attacks from the north, and one attack from the south. Since I have started using this base I have not been three stared however, I have yet to suffer from a fairly powerful attack. I will post my logs below.

My playing style would probably be best described as, 'Casual Farmer'. My priority would be resource protection. I play when I can but I do have a life outside of CoC. If there is any room for improvement please, let me know.

-I would put the clan castle in the middle. There's no point in putting a building storage there.

overall 8/10

As for upgrades, I would do the clan castle next. Then the mortars and ADs.

I agree with above, CC should be more centralized. Definitely needs an upgrade too. Then up splash damage and cannons

The base you are using, the mantis, is great for giant defense. But from the air, you are screwed unless you upgrade them level one air defense u got dere

Thank you for the replies. I have the CC there because I really don't use it. There are almost never troops in it. If it does not have troops, is there still a good reason to centraly locate it?

For upgrades, it is in the works. I guess I am a premie TH7. I didn't max my TH6 before I upgraded to TH7. A little at a time, I'm getting it done. That is, if these TH8's and TH9's would stop raping me long enough for me to collect some loot :)

I'll say what everyone on this forum will say and that's to say the CC can help out immensely, but like me you don't use it much and if this is truly the case for you then there is no need to centralize it, you can just toss it on the side and replace it with something else.

Too close together..

Mortars are in one compartment, sort of easy to destroy, but then again, if they get that far, you are dead anyway. However, i is easy to get to the air defenses. or kill them with lightning, due to their proximity.

The CC is actually one of your most important assets on defense. Use it, and restock it immediately after an attack. Wizard, Archer, Valkyrie, and Dragon are all great on defense.

Never leave your clan castle empty when you log off.

The CC could be of great importance to me if it ever had troops in it. Without troops does it serve any other purpose?

The problem is, I never have troops to put in the CC. Sure, I'm in a clan, but it's not a great clan. I would change clans but, I'm kind of stuck. If it does not have troops in it, does it serve a purpose?

Without troops in the Cc the only purpose it has is to keep enemy troops busy firing at it while your defences get a few more seconds to fire. Obviously troops like goblins and giants will just ignore it.

Thank you for the reply. I guess it could also trick other players a bit, maybe make them a bit wary of attacking in that section, expecting to see some troops come flying out.

Funny story, in a sad kind of way. My other clan member is, no joke, my wife. If the clan were to break up she would be upset. If you have ever been married, or been in a serious relationship for the matter, you will totally get it.

Anyway, she is on the edge of losing interest in the game. When/if she bails I will be certain to check you out. Thank you for the offer.

As others have previously mentioned, work on your mortars and AD. Make sure wizard towers cover 2 storages each.

As far as your CC, if you're stuck in a clan, maybe try to recruit some new people for more troops. A few high level wizards in a CC makes a huge difference.

Other than that, I'd say make your base more compact. It will stop people from clearing out free buildings with archers before they deploy giants, etc.

As funny as it sounds, I understand the clan problem.We don't want to get your wife upset :). But if you can't change clan, you can make your clan better. You can try to find new members on chat or forum and find some good players for your clan that are willing to donate. CC is important,for me at least, and I think it would help you in defending your base. If not, than just wait till the situation changes.
Regarding the base you got good advice in previous posts. I would probably make a different one,but if you stick to this one, and you don't use cc really, I 'd rather use those walls between decoration and cc to close up those cannons on the side, or to make some other compartment within the base on a better place/or switch cc with some point damage defense.
