Not sure if this have been asked/answered before, so apologies if it has.
When Tom brings back a maximum of 7x of whatever item it is, and you reject him and he takes a short break, does he ever bring back more than 7x after? Cause I tried a couple of times and he keeps bringing back 7x!! :confused: seems to me like it's a waste of time and I should have just accepted the first time.
He often brings back 8 or 9 the second time. It is worth sending him back.
I think they changed it so he continues to bring the same amount if you reject him.

I have him hired and whenever he tries to bring x7 of anything I want, I reject it. Sometimes, he keeps insisting on 7 for another time, but, it changes to 8 or 9. I believe it is random
I usually keep rejecting his offers until he brings me 9. Though sometimes it takes so long it might be smarter to accept 8 or 9, instead of insisting on 9.
I just got 9 shovels, after rejecting him about 4 times.
I agree with Cesar. It's totally random. I don't think how many times you've rejected him, how many of the item you have, etc. have any effect. It's just random chance.
Yep, it's pretty random. Just keep sending him back. NEVER accept just 7, though, as Janilee pointed out, sometimes it's prudent to accept 8 if he just REFUSES to bring 9. I usually wait for 9, though.
I accidentally double tapped in the worst possible place the other day and hired him for TEN WHOLE DAYS to the tune of 100 (yep, that's ONE HUNDRED) diamonds!!! I laughed. It was either that or cry. After I recovered from my cardiac arrest and used him a couple of times, I decided it was super cool to have him so many times. Still have 5 days to go, too. I thought at first he would ruin the game for me since I could have anything I wanted which would take the challenge out of playing, but I'm still playing pretty much the same and am still only using him for cheeses, metal bars and jellybeans. And I'm sharing with my daughter, too. I won't use him for foods - that WOULD spoil the game (for me). So now I understand why so many people hire him for more than a day at a time - it's pure luxury! :)
I love having him for five days! Especially with my daughter thinking I am just aux storage for Her farm! lol I would probably cry is I accidentally spen 100 diamonds, though!
Wow, Shea, and I thought it was wretched when I accidentally bought him for 5 days a couple of days ago. Trouble us, I am either at work or asleep most of the time, and keep forgetting about him the rest of the time.Quote:

I always wonder whether it is better to get for 1 day or 5 days or 10 days. For one day, especially in weekend, I can get 11 times easily. But for 5 or 10 days, I have to work and its unable to predict how many times I can really get. And even for just one day can get you a lot of particular items, which may result in a full barn. So I often hestitate on how to spend my hard-earned diamonds.
Is it practical to send Tom repeatedly for shovels... to get enough diamonds to pay for Tom?

I have found that you don't have to send Tom for only shovels, and you don't have to be tied to Hay Day all day to make sure you don't miss any Tom runs. If you're reasonably disciplined, you can get enough diamonds to pay for Tom, plus some extra to use for other things. And still use him to get other things now and again.

does he take a break or run off to get you a better deal straight away?
ive never rejected an offer!
He just lays down for 2 minutes and then you can go again. My problem is that that 2 minutes is easily long enough to get distracted and forget he exists again for another 4 hours...Quote:

I took advantage of the % balloon discount and hired him for 5 days (cause that's what I could afford at the time). I have about 12 hours left and I've already earned enough diamonds to re-hire him for another 10 DAYS!! So I'll definitely do that and see what happens.
I also find having the Tom notification on very useful. Usually when I'm busy, I'll just quickly pop into my farm and get him to fetch some shovels. That way I can squeeze in at least 7 trips for him per day.

This did not work for me, use Tom to get shovels but don't have in mind this will definitely get back your diamonds for sure! I was happy to re stock all my jams I had used on the boat delivery event :-).
Make it fun to use Tom, do not send him for items you definitely can get in the DD. And in my experience
I feel the game is written to offer 9 of item requested maybe 98% of the time.... it's frustrating to wait 2 minutes
over & over & over about 6 or 7 times! until you do get the 9 items. We all just decide if it really is that important to
get 9 items anyway. It matters if you need 9 of that item for your boat and you ARE at a rest stop! Ha Ha Ha
