Does anyone know if android suffers from this bug also?
Wow, I've read every single post in this thread. I must say I'm very dissapointed with SC.. Especially with their answers. I started to play CoC a little over three weeks ago and i bought enough gems for 5 builders and few extra gems that mostly went into gemmung upgrades ro finish early, at my convenient time. After reading this post I wont buy a single gem anymore until this gets resolved... Im not sure how else we can make SC finally do somthing about this though... Just imagine how much more money they will earn when this bug is affecting the new android users while they are still onlivious to this daylight robery....
So what's up with that? did supercell fixed it?
I don't particularly agree with all of the other points you've made, but I feel the need to single this one out.
Why? Because it's just utter nonsense. There is no way that a company that rakes in over 2 million USD per day is unable to fix a bug like this. Heck, they could even hire a complete second team just to work on this and the accountant wouldn't even blink.
And even if it is completely unfixable (quod non) or it would take forever to fix (quod non), then still it would take merely a few hours for a single developer to just add a compensation in the sense of reducing building/research upgrade times. If they make an update that says 7 days on the tin just take 165 hours (instead of 168), then with builder lag accounted for it would roughly even out to what it should be: 7 days. This can be done for every upgrade, just take a small percentage off of the time. It's the same kind of number-editing in a game file that allows for the spell factory to work faster or boosts to be cheaper, for example. It's the same kind of number-editing that changes the giant bomb price from 50k to 20k. It's really nowhere near as hard as they try to make it seem.
This is something that has been suggested before and obviously has been read by Supercell before. One must ask, why do they not just invest that tiny bit to make their game work properly and their customers happy? As much as I'd like to think otherwise, I fail to see any other reason: money.
It's true !! Especially lab upgrades.
You never thought to yourself I didn't do an update at 2am? Lol
That would be an interesting theory.
The trouble is that we are being told that the delay is due to visits on a village. However, this cannot be quantified as we have no means of knowing how many people are visiting our villages in any given time period. We don't know that 1 person looking for 1minute is the same as 6 people visiting for 10 seconds. Or if each visit equates to 1-2 seconds, and if you're looking for longer if that figure increases.
SC also try to say that it's only affecting a small population of players...which again I do not understand, because we're all on the same servers...have just as much likelihood of being visited, etc...
and no, they don't like both of the hotfix suggestions. Either increasing the gem rewards to cover the time lost by gemming it back, or reducing the times a little, so they lag to the stated times.
I started a test on Sunday. Gemmed 2 builders early so i could set them at 11pm. Took pictures against world time on my iPod. 2 day build for queen and 7 day build for mortar. Queen finished with a 16min delay over the 2 days. I worked out that if this is an average over all builders then that equates to 5475 gems to keep builder times constant over a year for 5 builders. NOT HAPPY SC!!!!
I still cant believe there is not a fix to this issue... 7 months and counting? Wow.
