Hey guys, not long started playing CoC and would really appreciate some advice. I'm currently TH5 and have been saving up for TH6 with no avail. My trouble is that I keep getting raided and can't progress my gold much past 300,000. Also my mines are at level 8. I'm also struggling to see what needs defending and I've run out of walls. Should I give up on saving for TH6 and max out my walls first, followed by mines?

My advice:
1) Learn to post in the correct sub forum. This belongs in the "Tactics, Strategies & Questions" sub forum.
2) You definitely need to upgrade your walls quite a bit more to help hold off some attackers.
3) How often are you attacking others for resources? If you are relying solely on your mines for gold, it will take you a long time to go anywhere in this game. Your primary source of income should be from attacking other players.

In fact, you should be around 300-500.
Wait till you upgrade your walls and defenses a bit more before you upgrade your town hall and start collecting more trophies.
And enjoy the addiction that is clash of clans!!!😉
never EVER upgrade to TH8 or 9 before absolutely everything is maxed.
Ok nice one, thanks. Is there anything I could move outside of the walls so that I can close the interior walls with the extra walls il free up? I'm struggling to see what needs defending the most as some people guard there TH and others don't and others guard there mines where others don't =S obviously the storages are the most important

keep your trophies low, use barbs, archers, giants, goblins and a couple of wallbreakers to raid bases quickly for resources. all you want to do is grab them and leave, don't worry about winning the match and try not to use you whole army unless its for a big loot. build your base to protect resources only. lose some fights by dropping one troop on villages to get your trophy level down to where the fights are easy and the loots are plentiful. trophies mean nothing in this game until you are fully maxxed, use them as a way to get easy fights as that's all the matchmaking is based on. move your town hall outside unprotected so people give you an easy shield without taking any resources... read up on farming, there's heaps of topics here about it. will change your game forevever, never have to worry about not having enough resources ever again.

you need to use your walls to slow the attacker down - contain them essentially, at your townhall level squares around your best defences and gold storage in the middle with your other defences around that all separated by squares - basically like my son's base here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJjkdNTRz40
Good luck and as the others say take it slowly upgrading, you will enjoy the game more if you have defences and walls that are effective and that takes time and effort to raid for gold
