level 6 archers = a waste of money?

hey guys,

I'm a new townhall 9 and i finally got my lab upgraded so i can get those sweet, epic, super B.A. lvl 6 troops!

however, the archer is beyond confusing to me. It's 7 mil. elixir, gains 2 damage per shot, and 4 life. Takes 14 days to research. Archers already get 1-shot by all the mortars, wiz towers, teslas, cannons, archer towers, that a Townhall 8 would have. Going to level 6, literally NONE of those defenses needs 2 shots to kill her.

What is the point then?

The little damage increase helps more than you would think. Also to get into many elite clans, you need level 6 archers. This is a very important upgrade in your CoC career.

Most TH8 have Level 5 Mortars, and level 6 Archers take 2 hits from this level

Pretty expensive and minimal stat changes but anything a little stronger destroys things quicker.

I personally know a player who just upgraded to TH10, and has level 5 archer and barbs.

They are not at hyped up as they were made out to be.

I researched them due to my OCD.

yeah I get that, but you can have lvl 6 mortars at TH8, which anyone with a brain will have. but you're right, lvl 5 mortars will 1-shot my archers now, but not lvl 6 archers.

here's some clarification i suppose: I will eventually get all the research maxed. But in the early stages of TH9, everything is super elixir heavy: army camps, DE drills, laboratory, spell factory, and of course, research.

So I'm just wondering if i'm better off starting with giants, balloons, barbs, or something? Save the archers for the tail end? Or do you guys still recommend getting them early on?

Agreed...the stat boost is massive. Only other one I would have considered for first up was balloon 6...also massive.

I did giants first and then did dark e upgrades after that in the lab for a while while i did camps and drills

True, I think archs need a VERY SLIGHT buff. Though, unlocking lvl 6 archs gives you free access to many high level exclusive clans!
