No more personal events for me, here's why....

Another personal event, why do I do this to myself? I guess I'm hoping to see something I'll actually need... but alas, supercell doesn't get it; they do it the same ole' way every time, because it works FOR THEM.

I just finished today's personal fishing event...

First Prize: 2 shovels (Even thou I have a lot of these already this IS something I'll use, and need in the quest for never ending quest of platinum in the mines)
Second Prize: 2 Purple vouchers (I think I used more purple vouchers trying to make enough lures (because of the time restraints), so I could fish enough, to get enough lbs of fish to get the prize)
Third Prize: 2 deeds (really? I'm level 80. I had 70 of these in my barn already. I gives these away like candy; and before you ask me for them NO you can't have them. I don't know you, maybe you could befriend someone before you look for handouts.)
Fourth Prize: 2 purple vouchers (ummm, yeah)
Fifth Prize: <drumroll please> 5 saws. Really? what a major disappointment. I have 161 of these in my barn already.

Which brings me to the big question.... YOU, who are reading this rant... what would YOU want for a prize? I suppose if you are an early level all these prizes might bring a smile to your face. So tell me, what level are you and what would you like to see for prizes?

I'm only level 46 or so and none of those would excite me either. Gold vouchers, BEM and maybe shovels (at least 5) are the only things I want from events.

I don't really participate in events for the prizes. It's a fun challenge, which I would probably do even if there were no prizes.

That said...the prizes are pretty disappointing. And the randomness of them is something many find annoying. Getting mallets when you're level 100 and likely to be fully expanded already. Getting dynamite when you're level 20 and have your land cleared but can't open your mine yet. And the unfairness of it: some people getting 10 gold vouchers or diamonds while others get saws.

Most people seem to want gold vouchers for prizes. Or diamonds. Me, I like getting barn expansion items. Only I've reached the point where one or two planks, or even 5, doesn't mean much.

I'd like the chance for a jackpot. Say, 20 or 50 or 100 planks. Even if you don't need them, it would be fun to give away or sell that many items.

I wish we can choose 5 items we want the most each time a global event comes and have them assigned randomly in 5 personal goals.
Then I'll have more motivation to go for it. Seeing other people get better prize is kind of depressing for me, I avoid those threads. Hope & Despair.


- Here are some facts about global events:
On some FB groups during global event, you can trade cookies for BEM/SEM/LEM
Unlimited boat crates of various products to fill if you are fast enough (I got 3 wheat crates once and level up during last boat season by filling top contributor's boats)
More XP by contributing global product
Global products sell fast at max coins in RSS (remember Bacon & Eggs event?)
Everything else from the same machine or related with global products also sell fast in RSS

I adjust my play style during global event and make coins, XP and generate more item from harvest. And 5 diamonds guaranteed :cool:.

I usually always complete the global events even though I am always relatively disappointed in the prizes. Gold vouchers are always a plus and that's why I do them. I did get three this time after getting none in the last three events.

Agreed--even though I would probably participate in the events without the prizes (just to get 5 diamonds), I would prefer that the prizes not be so lame.

Perhaps they could look at what you are short on and give you that? Perhaps they could set up different prize tracks based on your level? (For example, people who are expanding their land clearly need mallets, but not people who have fully expanded or are not at a high enough level to expand yet do not need mallets.) Perhaps they could just give a lot of gold and purple vouchers, since everyone needs those? Perhaps they could let you choose a prize track with a theme? (For example decorations, BEM/LEM/SEM, premium products, tools, coins/XP/vouchers.)

Just some suggestions, offered up for discussion.

I like your ideas, powder monkey. Like others, I would probably do the event for the diamonds or other global prize. But, it would be even better if the prizes along the way were more directed at our level or our needs. Saws and axes are particularly disappointing for me since I have a lot of them and they don't sell for much. The only nice thing is that when I toss them in the RSS, I imagine some happy buyer feels lucky. I suppose the randomness in the quality of prizes as distributed mirrors RL - some people are lucky, and some are not - but when I am playing hay day getting away from RL is part of the lure. Maybe it shouldn't, but when I get an array of prizes like that of op, and read of others getting multiple gold vouchers and BEM, it disappoints me.

What I would like is something like powder monkey, janilee, or meonhoc suggest.

I was fishing anyway, so this time I was glad for the extra heavy fish to bolster my achievement score... But I agree the prizes are pretty underwhelming.

I don't know that it's enough to make me stop participating though.

I'm going to be a bit of a brat here...I have to say it gets really frustrating seeing these threads with nothing but complaints about the prizes awarded during these global events. It's never good enough for anyone...everyone seems underwhelmed with them. Some people make a calm statement about it, which I find easy to take, but some, like the OP, sound quite irritated at the whole event, and that's what really gets to me. If you are not pleased with the interim prizes, that's OK, you are entitled to your feelings and opinions, but I see no reason to come to the forums and fuss about it!

This is a game, one that SC is trying to keep fun and enjoyable. They provide prizes along the way, instead of making everyone wait until the end to get the final prize of 5 diamonds, or the sled, or the telescope, etc. So, if those interim prizes aren't what you were hoping for, or not something you need any longer (LEM's), just throw them into your RSS and make some coin, or give them away to someone else who needs them. If they are vouchers, but not the color you wanted, just use them to save up for something, or to make lures so you get bigger fish that provide you more XP for leveling up. But please stop whining and complaining about the prizes not being up to your standards. From my perspective, it looks pretty selfish not to be thankful for what you do get, as you could be getting nothing!

I'm with you on this one. Yes I got mallets for one goal but I don't look at them as "not bolts", I look at them as instant cash and I sell them. I actually hate the current event because I hate fishing. It's too stressful trying to get the dang thing in the circle, when I can use a big fat worm and still get a fillet for my efforts. But again, it's because I don't like fishing not because of the prizes. Let's face it, we will fish anyway to get the filets so if someone wants to toss some LEM at me to sell then it's a bonus. I'll go back to using nets and worms soon enough. But the other events are fun and different but not required for me to level up or fill boats so I look at them as fun diversions.
