For me, my farming base was attacked by ONLY 1 Dragon and for some reason the attacker was trying to destroy my TH which was left defenceless in the corner. 3 barbs was all that was needed to destroy it.

160 barbs to destroy an unprotected th(that is what is the definition of overkill)
I got attacked by a crazy gemmer when i was TH6 lvl 35-40, he used 8 lvl 3 pekkas. Didn't even 3 star me lol.

Btw after digging up this screenshot from my ipad, i realized it must've been 6 pekkas. He doesn't have his 4th army camp yet.. Well 6 lvl 3 pekkas still ♥♥♥♥♥♥ed against my minibase back then..
