1/2x Speed Replays/ Rewind Replays

I like to use replays to see where my defense is strongest and weakest, but during a fast paced raids it's hard to catch everything sometimes, and it would be better if I could slow down the replay or rewind and re-watch a few seconds rather than having to restart the replay over and over again to observe everything. Does anyone else agree?

Check the many many replay threads.

These aren't saved as videos.
Rewind/Save etc aren't possible.

Pause doesn't sound hard though. If it was easy to add, they could add that.

If they aren't videos, then what are they, and how does that difference make a fast-forward possible but a rewind impossible?

I heard that it's actually a completely new battle, and the program just deploys troops and spells at the exact same moment you did during the actual battle. Same deployment=same results. I dunno why that wouldn't allow a rewind, though.

They are stored as a sequence of troop placements and timings for those placements.
(This is a much much smaller amount of data than a video)

So the fast forward works because it just calculates the movements of each troops and how/when they attack along with the same for each defensive building.
So a replay is exactly that it's replaying what you did, and recalculating the result.

So there is no 'rewind' as there is nothing to rewind to.

(It's also the reason that all replays disappear with updates. The troop AI, or troop damage/health changes even a small amount and the battle's result will be changed)

Going to go a bit off-topic here, but I think it would be pretty cool to keep one of these "replays" after the update and see how much one change makes.:)

I absolutely agree!

It would give a great idea of if your troops were still behaving in a similar way, and if the raids would give you more/less loot.


I was imagining dropping giants in a corner of a base where they breach walls and they choose to go left (I can never predict it!)
Under the new AI they happen to go right, and then all through the raid Rage spells are dropped on nothing!
