when the event started, I looked at the "Ghost fish" picture and went to look at the fishing place...
no "ghost fish" to see... but... no event fish either... is this a bug? should I restart the Ipad? because I have tried purple, blue and green lures... no event fish in any of the 4 places I have available... since I haven't been able to get all the LEM's
I've caught event fish, using blue and green lures.
There's a knack to it. Eventually you'll be able to recognize the event fish by the way the small and large circles look (the ones that appear on the water surface when a fish is hooked).
The event fish have sort of medium sized inner circles. If the inner circle is so small it's about the same size as the fish...it's not an event fish. The inner circle for an event fish is a little larger than that. But only a little. A big inner circle is not an event fish, either.
The large outer circle contracts more slowly around event fish, so if you notice that, keep the fish.
If it's not a fish you want, drop it and let it go. You won't lose your lure, and will be able to try again right away.

I finally got an event fish, Zander at 12.528 lbs, it's the heaviest fish I have ever caught... with a green lure

Is it just me or do the event fish have their own circle size? It seems like it is between a small and medium circle.

Yes, they have a different circle size and a slower moving inner circle. Also, all weights, bronze to gold can indeed be caught using green and blue lures. I never used purple or gold lures and caught all 12 event fish (as did several other people of course) :)
Some things I have noticed about the event fish:
Zander--I have only caught this one with the green lure. I catch it most often in front of the hut and in the other 2-hour area next to the hut (the "shallow" area). The inner circle is just barely bigger than the fish shadow. The outer circle shrinks much slower than for normal fish, and the fish fights very hard.
Giant Barb--I have only caught this one with the purple lure. I catch it most often in the reed fishing area, and next most often in the waterfall area. The inner circle is just barely bigger than the fish shadow. The outer circle shrinks much slower than for normal fish, and the fish fights very hard.
Lake Sturgeon--I have only caught this one with the blue lure. I catch it most often in the two deep fishing areas. The inner circle is just barely bigger than the fish shadow. The outer circle shrinks much slower than for normal fish, and the fish fights very hard.
The other event fish I have caught so few of that I can't characterize them, sorry.
I have never caught the "gold" size of any event fish, so I can't tell you what the trick is to that. (Does anyone know?)

I don't think there is a trick to catching gold weight fish. It's just luck. And your chances of getting gold weight fish is pretty low, so the only thing you can do is fish a lot.
I have caught several giant barbs with blue lures. I really think area is totally random - you can catch them anywhere - but I've had the most luck with Area 2 (the spot between the fishing house and the waterfall).

The post with the map and chart is supposed to be moved to the last page, but you sometimes have to go back 2-3 pages, depending on if Boyorob's been around to move it. (When there's more posts, like during a fishing event, you probably have to go back further.)
Anyway, if you're trying to catch a specific fish, the chart will tell you what lure you need. It also tells you what lures were used to catch the gold weight fish, but that might be a small sample size fluke, so take it with a grain of salt.
