Dumpster Diving at TH6 Silver League III

I have a TH6 farming base in Silver League III. My cannons and archer towers are leveled up while the mortars and air defense are in the process. The wizard towers need 720k gold each and my raids feel like dumpster dives. Each additional attempt is 250 gold and I often times spend 10 thousand searching for a village with enough elixir to break even. Well over 50% of the villages in my range have wooden walls and under 10k in available resources. Is anyone else in my shoes and what can I do differently so I'm not spending hours adding 200k gold to my stash?

Simple solution: move up to silver II or silver I
