I have everything maxed, including walls, except 2 army camps (one is being upgraded to Lv 5), collectors, and I have a 601k gold capacity and a 751k elixir capacity. My Lv 3 Air Defense will be done in 3 days. Obviously I will need to upgrade the gold storages to upgrade to TH6.
Post a pic of your village so we can make sure, but it sounds good.
you can upgrade the camps while the TH upgrades, depending on how many builders you have. also make sure you upgrade all the barracks to their max levels. makes it easier for cooking troops.
As long as you have almost maxed out everything, it's okay to upgrade :rolleyes:
I don't have barracks maxed, just don't feel Wizards are that great for farming, unless I'm unaware of an Archer-like strategy here.

You are fine to go ahead. Fully maxxing really only matters for moving up to TH 8 and TH 9.
Looks legit. One of the few people I respect for not advancing too fast. Good job and go ahead with that TH upgrade.

Off topic:
I'd advise to upgrade your army camps earlier in the future. More troops means better raids.
Upgrade priority should be:
1) splash defense
2) lab n troop upgrade (close second)
3) army camp
