TH7 DE farming and other tips.

So, I finally got my Barbarian King last week, after roughly 3 weeks of being TH7. I feel I could have done better farming DE, but my trophy count was a little low initially.

Now my trophy count is 1300-1450. I'm finding decent amounts of DE, but it's usually safely tucked away behind walls, and sometimes it's well defended by TH8, 9 or higher defenses. I've seen a few different DE guides ranging from Barch, Massive Archers, and other typical farming comps, to Giant/Wizard + Healer (along with archer gob, barbs).


I'm wondering what most people here recommend and what are some good guides I could look to.


Also, I'm almost done upgrading everything for TH7. Only have a few collectors and 1 of my Hidden Teslas to upgrade. I know TH7 is a great place for farming, which leaves me with 2 questions.

1. Should I delay my upgrade to TH8, and have non-productive workers for any period of time?


2. Should I boost my barracks when I have 2 hrs to dedicate to hardcore raiding?

3. Also, in general, what should I spend my gems on, now that I have all 5 workers.

If I were you I would experiment with a barb/arch/goblin mix mostly since it's cheaper and faster to build than the giant/healer army. Perhaps adding 8 or so wall breakers. Let's say 8-12 wb's to start with and 2 barracks full of archers, 1 full with barbs and the 4th full of goblins. You don't always have to use the wb's only when it's necessary. Just keep on filling the barracks full of their designated troop so you can have a constant stream of troops coming out.

I would suggest you upgrading your last hidden tesla to max and also your collectors. If you haven't maxed your walls yet I would max those also. Since you have 5 builders I would leave one free for upgrading walls and the other 4 for whatever you have left to upgrade.

I wouldn't boost barracks to raid, I don't think it's necessary. Just raid normally.

You could spend gems on finishing upgrades if your gold storage's are maxed but that's up to you. I personally would use them on spell boost if you're a big spell user.

I start with Barch: 70 barbs/88 archers. I have 2 giants (barbs are good meat shields but when you're up against a wt or ht they come in handy. I bring 6 wbs. You can breach most walls with two wbs so that's three walls of higher order.
I carry 10 minions but almost never use them. You can leave this out of your attack.
So barbs to start the attack, send 1/3 or so for the outlining buildings. Back them up with archers (20 or so) and wait until they approach the walls. Send another level of barbs and your two giants at problem spots. Once the meat shields are engaged send 2 wbs at a time to open holes.
Send in another 20 to 30 archers. You can use lightening, rage or heal depending on the situation to push the attack forward. Use your remaining archers to push home the attack once you see it opening up.
Once you are comfortable with this cheap and fast army (16 mins) you will learn what to look for in defenses.
Also, don't always assume the DE is all in the storage, the reason you don't send all of your archers early is in case there's a bunch in the collector. Always note where both are.

I would like to know how effective us dropping 3 lightning spells on DE storage? Is it worth the return considering most storages have high hit points...

Upgrade to Th8....

you don't need to stay on TH7 especially for hunting DE because it's waste of time. Lv.4 troops can't do much to TH8+ guys that offer fair amount of DE. They are still too weak ...
the only advantages on TH7 is the ability to farm TH6 guys without loot penalty. well... you won't find any DE on these guys.

while in your progress maxing your bases, you might get farmed hard by those lv.5 troops and you know their power rite?

so... forget the <200K TH6 loot, go for the big 250K+ TH7+ raids with those powerful Lv.5
