Pushing to Masters as a TH8

Alright, my clan system is doing a push in the main clan fairly soon. I want to hit Master for the 1000 gems mainly (as well as yknow, seeing how far I can get!). I'm just not sure what to push with (also, I don't want to just snipe there, want to fight for it!) Currently I have:
-L4 Bloons (going to 5 in 2 and a half days)
-L3 Hogs
-L5 Giants and L3 Healers
-L4 Minions
-L5 Barch
-L3 Dragons
-All L4 spells (Heal, Lightning, Rage)

In addition to strategy, I'm wondering if using a trophy base is worth it or whether I should just use a farming one so people will snipe my town hall only giving me a one star.

Maybe I should edit OP... I want to get there w/o sniping (well I'll snipe a TH if I see it, but not doing that as sole method)

There is really only a few options to reach master as a th 8;
1. Town hall snipe your a** off and claw your way up while contracting carpal tunnel by hitting the next button a million times. When any one sees that a th 8 sniped their town hall above crystal 2, they will wait for you to get offline and I guarantee you will be 3 starred.
2. Use your hogs, this will take an exceptional amount of skill because you will looking to take on decent town hall 9s at the least.
3. I'm not 100% sure this will work the whole way to master but it should work most of the way. Use 200 archers, cc, all lightning spells, and your barb king. Just surround the base with the archer and use the rest to clean up low hp buildings to get the last few %


Oh and to answer your base design question, a trophy base isn't worth it at th 8 (or even 9 for that matter) because basically the second you go offline someone will 3 star you for sure.

Barch would be much better. But i doubt it will work well since you can only hold 200 at th8

Just snipe th when your above crystal 2 -1 . Your troops composition definitely can not handle the endless amount of th 9-10 base with op infernal towers. You will just be wasting your time. Hog raids will help, but you need to be skilled, and you will fail at least a few times. I say raid normally when your th9 with max troops :) other than that , just do snipings for th8

I would suggest Balloons and Minions once your Bloons are Lvl 5
