there is no point to max everything especially maxing TH1-6 is waste of time

In my opinion, going to TH7 while not maxing out each TH that comes before, is fine - as long as you've done your troop upgrades though.
The loot at TH7 is great. You can still raid TH6's pretty well (90% of original loot), and also TH8's the are upgraded premature.
So, with upgrading to TH7 is nothing wrong.
But you gotta max out your base from that point - at each TH, or you'll get smashed by the big guys.

Yes, go for it. With walls done you have nothing to spend gold on, so it will just wasted if you don't upgrade. You will be fine.
