Gem Lottery

Bad and good idea. People in real life can pay $2 for a ticket and win millions, but that doesn't matter because the government keeps earning money. That's not what it's like for Clash of Clans. Supercell needs money to do make stuff a lot of times so I don't get why they would add this.. It sounds cool to get gems from a lottery, but I don't think that's happening. If Supercell did this then nobody would buy gems and once they run out of money then they're out of luck.

Hi, I think that this idea is unethical.

Lotteries are a form of gambling.

People buy Gems with money, and so gambling with Gems, is the same as gambling with money.
With so many young people play Clash of Clans, it would be unethical to add gambling to the game.
What happens if I spend $70 buying gems, then my daughter starts using all of them to buy lottery tickets, then I didn't win? I lose $70.

I am sure Supercell, Apple and many other companies will agree.

If you have a young daughter I bet you know her itunes password but she doesn't, right? If so, 'gambling' should be turned off by default in the settings. To change it you turn it on, type in your itunes password and boom! If your itunes password is changed then it will turn back off and itunes password must be re-entered to activate again

I like the idea but if the winnings are that many gems I think it would defeat the purpose of building and thus destroy the game. One can just wait, remove obstacles and just purchase the lottery until he wins and just auto upgrade close to the top. Idk just my 2cents :confused:

Um... do you need an iTunes password to use gems in Clash of Clans? And I don't think the app store allows that kind of framework; to ask for iTunes details without it going through iTunes servers. So that kind of authentication would only be allowed for IAPs.

It was just an example.
The lottery could be for 500 gems.

And lets say you had to buy tickets for the lotto, they'd be 5 gems each. with each player only available to have 5 tickets.

This way, no one is spending loads of cash, and it's only a small reward. But still big enough to get players' attention.

However, it still it is a form of gambling, with the chase of losing money, and therefore should NOT be allowed. No matter how small the input or the output is, I am against the idea of giving and taking other people's money in a video game.

That's just a matter of opinion.
A lot of games nowadays have gambling type systems.
It helps the game developer a ton.
