so what is a good attacking strategy for a th8 like me if i go for 3 stars every raid?
For 3-stars? Mass dragon if you get the right base. It is kind of hard to get 3-stars every time.

Search for underdeveloped villages with defenses 2-3 levels under what they should be, or villages with TH 2 levels below you.
Cheap army? 6 giants, 12 wall breakers, 50 Archers, 50 Barbs, 36 Gobs.
Expensive army? Baloons w/ healing spells.
