BAM Vs. Barch

I prefer barch my self

I use bam mostly. But when I have my barracks boosted I use barch. Also it depends on how much de i have. But preferably i use bam.

Lastly, to the Gentleman above me who stated that he doesn't use minions because he "doesn't like to mix ground/air troops".......?!

not everyone with collector bases has them laid out waiting for you to crush. A lot of ppl at times have them protected by walls and or other buildings, especially dE drills.

Now, obviously, you can do the ol' lay down some barbs to tank/distract while the archers shoot over the walls, but when mortars and punishing you, it's not always that simple.

Thats where minions come into play.

The most common and probably best strategy the tell you is to send in barbs to clean up/tank, send in Archers to support them, then send in minions to get loot once the path is clear. This works a lot, but sometimes I find myself doing the opposite.

if they are foolish enough to have splash buildings like wizard towers or mortars too exposed, I send in a handful of minions to punish their insolence. THEN I send in my barbs/archers after I take out the exposed splash defenses.

whatever works for you.

Lastly, I hate when my clan mates post replays of nice raids where they dump all of their troops for no reason and overkill then have to wait forever to raid again. Just use what u need. ESPECIALLY if TownHall is already exposed for easy win. No need in going ham, just get what you came for, barracks and army camps don't give loot, no matter how hard I try..lol..

I don't see why this is shocking. By mixing ground and air you are opening up your attack to the full force of the defense you are going against. I always viewed BAM as a quicker army at the expense of army strength and the more scare resource.

BAM is better cuz it's faster. Speed is everything

BAM is a better farming method period (in fact it's the ONLY WAY TO FARM). It's not even a contest. Yesterday I was gold farming from 1800-1600 and after the entire day I made a 10,000 DE PROFIT. It's like investing. You invest MONEY to make MORE MONEY. Same thing with using minions. Invest in some DE and you will profit with more DE. Just learn how to use it properly and be in the proper trophy range.

And by contrast, BARCH is a better cup pushing strategy period. It's not even a contest. Having all ground troops plus the fact that minions take up 2 spaces allows you to BARCH your way to masters at th9. You can't do that with minions.

So neither one is better, they are totally different.

Barch. It's cheap and completely easy to use and takes 15-20 mins to train, making for more raids in less time. I can make 100k in resources in a single raid and get up to 10 trophies

100k? You're doing it wrong :) That's a light raid for me. I'm a BArcher. Part of that is I haven't leveled my minions yet. Whoops! :eek: Focused on AQ and BK instead and level 6 giants (who are fun to throw in to BArch and it doesn't increase the time noticeably).

why do people worry about the cost of minions
i have usually about 40 mins (how many come out with all barracks going at once) and I'm gaining like about 5k de a day just because of my drills (i have 2 level 6 drills) and if your drills are low leveled... simple solution.. upgrade them

It is shocking.... would you just throw your minions against an air defense before the barbs knock it down? Same order of business to send minions against a WT or mortar to stop it from punishing splash hits on your other attackers.
The point is that minions in a Barch allow you more options. You rarely get the perfect base to attack, what's wrong with being prepared with a couple of troops that can help.
BTW, the reason I put two giants in my BAM is because this seems to even out the training time I've set up for Barb and Arch and they offer me the versatility I talked about.
