For me:
Faster army: BAM
Don't want to use my de: Barch
Simple:
BAM is better when farming for gold/elixir but at the expense of DE
Barch is good if you don't want to waste DE and attack not as often.
if your're boosting your barracks, use only barch.

I only carry 10 minions on my attacks. It's a mini-BAM.
I also throw in 2 giants and 6 WBs. They come in handy and it's a very nice package to hunt with. You can handle just about any scenario in the Gold I and II areas.
I was asking this same question the other day. It comes down to this BAM is faster to train since you can use your dark barracks (5 barracks going is faster than 4). They are both very effective and both can farm efficiently. The only thing I caution is DE farming with BAM and hitting the same bases you would with BArch. BArch = all DE profit. BAM = DE loot - DE cost = profit.Quote:
