Why is this even needed in the game, you get a 12 hour shield if you win an attack. Why have this in the game if someone raided you and got 40% you would win trophies and get a free shield that's just a bit unfair supercell.:D

I'm torn between two sides: It's true that removing the 40% will get rid of farming, but keeping it will allow top players to use 'Cheap Shielding'. For example: if I have multiple high lvl accounts (all of them over 3700 trophies) and I'm the #1 player in the world I would attack myself and only get 40%. Thus getting a free 12 hour shield and getting trophies ( Chief Pat has a better video on this found HERE: http://youtu.be/s3iG1lC5c40). So I want to remove cheap shielding, but I want to keep farming alive.
The shield is there so that abandoned bases can have time to refill and at the same time remain in that trophy level...or else all abandoned base would be both empty and at sub 200 trophy range...and nobody wants that do they?
For the rest, if you get damaged over 40%, most of the time you'd lose lots of your traps and cc troops. This would put you in great disadvantage even though you won. The shield is there so you can have time refill/rearming. Trophy doesn't really matter unless you are pushing for them.
On another note...why would you think of this? Did you noobishly attacked someone and left them at like 40-49% because you hit all their traps and got destroyed by their cc troops? Why would you want something that doesn't benefit yourself and hurt others? Actually this hurts everyone, if you got 40%ed, wouldn't you want a 12 time to rearm/refill your traps/cc? I don't see how removing the 40% shield would benefit anyone besides people in champ league (because without the shields, people can be attacked more often).

The 40% shield helps protect developing players, if it was 50% many developing players would get hit more often and be left shieldless.
Champion leagues however could benefit from this, would eliminate any 'cheap shield' controversy and help keep more bases in matchmaking longer. That should really help at the top.
So remove the 40% shield in Champion leagues only, leave it as it is elsewhere.
