I need to slow down too. I clicking on a tree instead of my barracks, then went into auto-pilot, clicked remove (thinking it was build troops) then clicked the pop up to free a builder. Stupid mistake cost me 700 gems to remove a tree.
The real kick in the nuts is that the tree didn't give me a single gem back as compensation!
Email them and explain

I'm sorry to say this, but as it was you that clicked it after getting asked do want to use the gems, so I doubt they'll do anything about it.
It's happened to a log of us, but for me it only cost me 25 gems. lol
