Lets say you come across a base with an upgrading inferno. The other inferno is lvl 3, loaded, and set on multi. Do you attack from the side of the upgrading defense, or the side of the live defense.
For the sake of the question, you are in master 1, cc troops and heroes are dead, and you have a balloon army. Assume the base is perfectly symmetrical, with defenses spread out in a rotational symmetry.

Well, if the Infy tower is close enough to the edge, then I guess I'd attack from the side with the working one.

it depends what army you are using and how centralized the inferno is if it was centralized i would attack from strong side but if it was not i would attack from weak side using balloons for a 2 star
