New troop idea: The General

The point of having different troops is so they can work together, what's the point of wall breakers if you don't have any other troops to attack and go in the wall. What's the point of Barbarians if you don't have anything to support them with like wall breakers or archers. All troops change other troops maybe not their stats but certainly their impact on the battle.

You totally misunderstood my comment. Any troop/spell that changes a troop who has already a set target, ie giants/goblins/balloons will destroy the game.

Lets send in all giants with one commander and attack everything they see 1 by 1, see my point?

I like this idea because when I attack, the troops go to somewhere where I don't want them to go. I just have one thing I disagree with, the general should have decent hp but not low hp. Other than that great idea.

Thats the point of the game, learn the AI and master each troop

I dunno; it doesn't sound too hard to make a bunch of minions attack the DE storage or TH.

Yes, I see your point. It is exactly why this couldn't work. Imagine a few DE troops (GoWi and even add Wi).
You'd have to change the entire dynamic of the game.

Upgrades to the general would increase his range. What do you guys think?

If your only goal is to grab some trophies and no resources, sure I suppose that could work. You did understand that once they leave the generals side they can't be commanded, right?

And make the build time and resouce cost high enough, and that would be a very poor strategy.

To the posts saying the General should have good HP, I understand the logic (generals sound tough), but I feel that considering what they do it would just be too OP. The general should be good for getting a few troops to do exactly what you want, but if he gets too close to the base you loose him.

I do like the suggestion of having this as a spell though. It seems like it might work better. Hmmmmm.......I'll have to think on that.

You've made a troop that creates instant win on any base and you don't see that as flawed?

Well, IF this troop was free, and IF this troop didn't occupy a significant amount of troop space (thereby making your army smaller), and IF it was anything like as OP as you asserted, then sure it would be flawed.

But if you are going to make a statement, at least have the courtesy to back it up.

What if it cost 150k elixir, took up 50 army space and took 2 hours to train? Would it still be OP or only something you used in special circumstances? Please make rational arguments in my thread instead of just declaring "this is OP and flawed" and then running away.
