How many people actually raid storages?

I do not wish to start a flame war, I just want general information. I am on forums often these days and it seems as though unless you are a high level pusher almost everyone here is using the same 3-4 army make ups and farming. It is very clear that at least here on forums farmers are the majority, especially with all the "bad loot" and "not enough neglected collectors" topics floating around.

So, how many people here actually battle with the purpose of trying to raid all storages in a base? It seems BAM and barch seem to be the most used strategy to farm and I must assume that with these make ups the people assume they are not getting to the core. Again, I'm just guessing as I've never used either army make up soplease correct me if I am wrong.

One last question not pertaining to the original point... For those of you who do constantly use BAM, Barch or any other make up (loonions seems popular) ALL the time, how does the game stay fun or fresh for you? It is great that you have a massive GG and all, but how does the game remain enjoyable if you are doing the same thing over and over again just to hit collectors?

Loonions are anything but boring. And with them, you can actually raid tough bases...more often than not you'll hit a storage base rather than a collector raid.

Barch/BAM is what gives the massive gold grabs, but its more of a grind, and not as fun at all for most people.

Personally, collector raids always bored me (that isn't to say I wouldn't take the loot easy tho ;)). The league bonuses, the league bonus increase, and the new loot system all made storage raiding more attractive, and once it became sufficiently profitable, I've not been below Crystal I.

For the first 8-10 months of playing, I used almost nothing other than barch/BAM, which wasn't cut out for much storage raiding. Again, once it became pretty profitable, I switched away. Now I haven't used anything but loonions for about 6 months now. To me, it was about mastering a strategy, then making the most of it. Might be boring to some, but I still get a good chuckle everytime my troops fly over someone's level 11 walls. :o

Thank you for asking this because i was wondering the same question. I've seen a few videos about BARCH and raids were more like collectors than storages raids. Was wondering if i should change my giant-healer combo to BARCH, the thing is loot isn't crazy but it's often in storages when i search, so i highly doubt i will try this one day.

Recently I have been hitting storages, as that is all I can find. Before he loot update I raided mostly storages. The update actually caused me to go after collector raids, when I can find them. Recently I can't seem to find any.

No one ever seems to mention mass dragons?
8 drags, rest archer and 3 lightning spells is definitely the best way to farm at TH7 and TH8.
So many 3stars and 500k raids. I used to do mass drags everytime I logged off and on for about an hour. Then for extensive raids just barch, worked like a charm.
8-10 months seems to be what Ill be doing too, after late-TH8 miniball is legit.

Takes up too much elixir

I think it's primarily based on your trophy range too, if your in gold three 80% of the time you can three star with Barch, BAM, or Loonions...

I'd say I raid somewhere around 60-70% mines/collectors and 30-40% weak storage base of TH7's, bad TH8's, and premmie TH9's.
On a side note, is Miniball at TH8 decent for farming? I need to get some practice with it once I get my minions to 4 and bloons to 5. Oh, and for miniball, does a level 4 rage vs a level 5 rage matter that much?

Just stole 2600 Dark elixir. 150 k gold and 178k elixir from storages with dragons :p

9 dragons managed only 30 % damage because of high level air defenses.

I am so getting revenged T_T

I do storage raids when i feel i can handle them with my farming composition.

This is what I mean, people saying they only use one troop combo for months on end! I love loonions as well and usually use them 2-3 times per day but could not imagine only using them and nothing else. I also realise that loonions probably gets you the best loot per battle even if the build time is more as you can target collecters and storages.

But... Does no one goof around with odd troop mixes even if the fail? Most say they hate valks (or other troops) but how many actually use them often enough to gauge a solid knowing? I realise this to most seems odd as you could be BAM'ing your way to more gold instead of wasting time trying new combos and adding a bit of mystery to your CoC day. Again, just curious if constant use of 1-2 mixes is fun at all, or if the fun for you is your GG stats or L9-11 walls? Hopefully both but to many it just seems like work and that is the part I don't get.

I personally love farming with BAM since it is a very flexible troop mix. Before the loot update, it really wasn't profitable to go after storages if you were a TH 10 since it was capped at 50,000 per storage. But now, I typically will go after any base that has at least 300,000 in gold storage. Use Barbs and Archers to clear a path and typically you can get at least 2 of the 4 storage units and depending on the base, you can possibly get all 4 if you have your hero's and a couple of rage spells. With the loot situation the way it is, I don't mind making 150,000 per attack, especially when you use BAM and can attack 8-10 times as hour if you don't use all your troops each attack. I have used this strategy since the loot update and typically can farm 1.5M gold an hour. (Typically farm from 1400 - 1800)

I attack whatever I see first!
My army comp is very efficient no matter what I choose! 170 archers and 10 hogs :)

To upgrade our ♥♥♥♥ :confused: why do farmer farm? why are bananas curved? why do some peoples eye look away from each other? is it boring? not when loot is good or after a 5 minute forced break! and we do quit after 12hours raiding yo :cool: hope this helps cheers :o

I have played for 11 months and the first 8 or so I used all sorts of different troops combinations and the game was a lot of fun. During the 1 gem boosting period right around the time of the loot change, I switched to BAM or BARCH (if I was low on DE) and used this to farm my level 9 and some level 10 walls. I do say while I love the army composition, it really did kinda of turn into a grind and the game wasn't as fun. It was nice to have those high level walls and to hit the 1 Billion GG mark, but it honestly seemed like a job where you were only concerned about making a certain amount of gold and farming a certain amount of walls each day and you used the most efficient troop combo to get there.

I finished upgrading my TH 10 final upgrade last weekend and have been BARCH and BAM free since. It has been the most fun I have had in the game in months! After finishing my upgrades, I worked on what I called my COC bucket list. My favorite troop combo was dropping down to sub 200 and dropping 120 bombs and 5 rage spells on a TH 2 just for fun (my clan unanimously voted that I will go to hell for doing that, but they laughed at the video nonetheless). Currently I making a run at champions and have used GoWiWi with freeze spells and dragons and even used a few valkryies and hog rider attacks on my way back up. I do have to admit, using different troop combos is part of the fun of the game and when you play so long, you kinda forget how new and exciting experimenting with everything is. My only worry is that trophy pushing will turn into a grind and I will end up using the same troop combo over and over like I did when I farmed walls. I am up to 2700 and I am starting to tell that only a couple of troop combos are gonna work.

I attack storages, as long as I can get to one or two of them with Barch.
I never find inactives -_-

I'm confused, I consider myself a farmer, but I always go for a 100% (3 stars)
I always look for bases with more than 250k/250k/500
I don't use BAM-BARCH...

Am I really a farmer? What's exactly a farmer then?

I think I'll make a thread about it...

I love a good GoGi resource collector raid. Hit the trash buildings for 50% or snipe the TH for one star. Win win.

Please don't, there have been enough of these 'What is a farmer' threads recently, and we always come to the same conclusion...we will never come up with a universal definition since everyone has their own opinion on the matter.

To me, yes you are a farmer, you just don't use the most efficient farming method.

People have different views of what is fun, and nobody is wrong here. Some people like experimenting with new combos, other like to upgrade their base as fast as possible, others like to hunt for cups, etc. etc., and they are all equally valid.

I do storage raids when there is no collector raids. I admit the later is more attractive and profitable but it is also good to practice your skill to break into the cores sometimes just to keep you in a good shape when it comes to trophy hunting. Also, storage raid is always a way to boast your skill to the rest of the clan:)

Since I started, this game is about upgrading as fast as possible. TH8 right now, probably moving to 9 in a month or two. Barch finding collectors is positively the fastest way to get loot. It's all about maximizing my time while playing to get loot (specifically gold at this point) that keeps me entertained.

Storage raids, for me at least, would take giants, WBs, etc. Id rather be getting loot than waiting for giants to finish. Not even going to consider using balloons at this point. And if you don't hit at least 2 of 3 storages (at TH8), you're not making near as much as a collector raid.

I do storage raids when i find a base with a lot of loot (Preferably 200,000+ Gold and/or 1,000+ DE) that i can get :)

Giants take the same house spacing and time to cook than 5 archers, they are even 5s faster. They are only slower than barbarians to cook. Unless you don't wait your 4 camps to be full and attack while cooking archers.

I agree completely Zach and I'm not saying one is more or less valid. I am just curious on the why factor of what people do. I've 'met' a few clashers since being on forums who have massive GG and amazing bases but they have told me it was boring to farm so much to get. Combine that with all the posts recently about bad loot and not enough collecter raids and it made me want to ask the community their thoughts.

Personally, I use giant/healer, which seems to be underrepresented on the forum, and I absolutely go for storages. While using cheaper, quicker, troops might be more effective, I prefer attacking once every half hour or so, and thus have a more storage-oriented army.

The game remains fun, in my opinion, since you get to work for upgrades.

I only use armies for storage raids. The whole point for me of raiding is the pvp aspect. With raiding in-actives I might as well play a pve game.

I do have to admit it is a bit frustrating when I find an easy 300k collector raid and I 3 star the base with a strong army when 20 archers could have got the loot.

Count me in, for the past week that's all I have done 200 archers, I gave my dragons a good vacations

I do both storages and collectors. I try to be flexible and take what's on offer.

Maybe that's why I don't suffer from next next next as much as others... or maybe that's because TH9 has better loot than TH10. but that is a different issue.
