Currently I'm a TH8. Im getting ready for that big upgrade from 8 to 9 but I keep considering skipping 9 completely and going straight for 10. The only question I have right now is what's the difference in loot for both townhalls? Would skipping 9 going to 10 make me hate myself? Let me hear some opinions from you forumers.
Hi OP, i would not suggest u skipping TH9 as loot will be horrible at TH10 unless u have strong troops going up against strong TH10. Otherwise u will find urself stuck n unable to loot anything. Not good being a premie TH10... Juz my 2 cents worth... Its ur game...
I always had decent loot as a TH9. I maxed it before TH10, but the loot is no where near as good or easy to get as it was at TH9. I miss all those TH8 collector raids down in Gold II ;)
Very bad idea in my opinion, th9 has a loot of stuff u will need before th10. If u upgrade to th10 u give up the chamce to attack th8s and its gonna b hard taking on those th9s n 10s with lv 5 troops and 200 acs.
Im a th9 and loot is good in th9, but if i had gone from 7 straight to 9 i would probably think loot is horrible. I think th8 helped me adjust to th9 one step at a time. I think u will see a huge difference in loot if u go straight to th10.
Im not saying max out th9 but at least get the basics, max farming troops, 220 army camp space, lv 4 sf and max th9 splash, dnt forget xbows.
Ok. You guys have made up my mind. I won't skip it. I havnt skipped a single th yet, why start now? Lol.
The main difference is that attacking th8 collector bases give an average of 100k or 150k from maxed storages which is rRe so average 100k, th9's are easy storage bases and going against th10's are not that hard once you know how. In my opinion the loot for th10 is great, but not being able to get those 200-300k th8 collector bases 300k storage bases is quite a draw back.

In a nut shell this is the difference. Its still manageable to skil th8 and jump to th9, but definately not skip th9.
I finally maxed my TH9 with lvl9 walls and in a couple of days I will be TH10. I really had to think it over. Upgrade costs skyrocket, loot is terrible. I didn't really enjoyed the last weeks of maxing TH9. I even considered quiting. I decided to see how things turn out and go from there. I already made the decision to play more casual. Don't care about builders sleeping anymore, that sort of thing. If you want fun, I would suggest you max your TH9 before going to 10.
I concur with what the others have said. TH9 is more fun and if you skip it you will be in a situation where you can't get loot from TH8's (50% penalty) - and there is A LOT to upgrade. Both TH9 and 10 are big steps up.
Due to the loot penalty you're pretty much forced to hit the TH9's at 1800+, 90% of which will be much more upgraded than you and hard for you to farm.
I would recommend you enjoy the good times at TH9 before the fun falls out of the game at TH10 and you are forced in to the higher leagues.
Seriously why on earth would you do this! have you not seen the 1000s of posts from TH10s saying how bad loot is!
I'm th9, so can't speak for th10, but I wouldn't advise it.
Farming at TH10 with 200 camp, lvl 5 troops, loot penalty and the potential to lose 400k from storages sounds like hell.

Both yes and no. Currently the only reason why you can elect to skip TH9 is that you can build 2 inferno towers in TH10. With both set to multi mode, your base will be very formidable to other players so you will hardly get raided.
However, TH10 loot is bad, especially when you don't have the proper troops to effectively raid the TH9 bases.TH9 bases are not easy to break. Put it in perspective, my TH9 base frequently 3-star TH8 bases using tier-1 army, while itself has not been 3-starred for quite some time by any TH10/9.

If you wanna rush, is not only about the th, but it is about troops and the your camp too... If you are able to do so... So you can be able to upgrade your defenses, too. But it will take longer... Unless you if you have money to affort it too...
You gotta use BAM or Barch strategy for farming... Having max camps...
DE is far easier to come by at TH10, but that's about it. Gold is much easier to come by at TH9, so I'd recommend maxing defense and do as many walls as you can while at TH9. Elixir is moot of course - you'll be in shortage of it for the first few weeks at any TH while upgrading camps/labs/spells and such, but afterwards it won't be an issue.

I haven't hit the upgrade button yet but as I see it for loot.
If you do storage raids there isn't too much diffrence, you get the odd decent th8 but most good storage loot is in th9's and 10's.
At th9 you can get the odd easy th8 but mostly loot will come from th9's and you have to skip th10's
At th10 you usally need to skip th8's can still take th9's but can now (with frezee) get those tasty 400k th10's
If you do collector raids there is no question th9 is a lot better. A lot of inactives are th8 and it can even be worth taking th7's at times plus you can still take th9's and 10's
In your particular situation though definitly don't skip unless you are wanting to cup push and want to be another one of the noobs in masters relying on their inferno towers but unable to build up resourses.
rush to 9 is fine...
rush to 10 is bye bye
