Chat is useless at the moment, and SC shot themselves in the foot.

I believe there will be people who like it, but I just do not have the time to hop from one neighbourhood to the other and chat a lot.
I opened a farm, at my level 500 coins do not matter, but most of my more active friends were already in their NBs or have deceided not to try it. So today I have left it and have not joined another one.

I would have liked to chat once in a while with someone, maybe to help with a trade or tell them about the forum, etc, but I am dissapointed that it has turned into Hayday Clans.

And yes, boats do not get filled fast anymore, i always opened three crates for my friends to fill, or if they were difficult advertised in the DD, but yesterday, after waiting for an hour I filled my crate of 15 eggs myself.

One of the reasons I love this game so much is the challenge of finding just what I need, whether it's expansion materials or foods or crops. That's what makes shopping fun. I'm sure I'm not alone in this, so the flip side of this chat business is that if farmers start selling exclusively through chat, then won't their neighbors know that they're not playing the same anymore? In that case, people would be unfriended and that would be detrimental to the farmers who do all of their selling through chat. So there's that to think of.

Hopefully there will be balance at the end of the day. I personally don't understand just what is so great about the neighborhood option. OR CHAT. But that's just me.

Hi Shealie54, this is jellygrass. I just befriended with you through GC yesterday. I am seriously considering leaving this game now. This game seems losing its initial appeal to me after the recent update. If I do stop playing, my apology to you and to CAST - I have sent her (or him) a friend request not long ago. IMO, the players would love to have a chat feature that is open to *everyone* - it does not need to happen in a "member-only/clan like" neighborhood. Technically, it is doable. In the past, I help people when I can and received helps from the players all over the world. The world *was* my neighborhood until this update. Luckily, I don't worry about too much in finding the expansion materials. If I really want them, I buy them with diamonds or I just wait patiently. It was the sense of "we are the world" that attracted me to this game. Now, I am not so sure any more. Hay Day just turns into a copy of our so imperfect life on earth. I like to ask supercell: why? Why bring in the concept of "division, partiality and competition" to this innocent game? I don't need an answer. Change is the nature of everything. So be it.

IMHO many are missing some important trends. As an example lets go by what i did today. I traded for all my expansion needs in my NH (and some food needs too) Well I am NOT in DD buying them now and thus there is MORE for you to find.

I now have ZERO need to go in DD and scan. Before the NH i was buying up everything in sight on DD. Today was first day ever I didn't even go near DD lol

It also means I'm only tending to my nbrs trees and boats and NOT all the players on DD that I normally do so plenty of that for you to have fun doing also.

Personally I think it will balance out just fine with a few tweaks.

I did. I was losing diamonds all the time on my iphone. I bought diamonds instantly after the update because of that confirm feature added. (well that and the 60% off sale)

The main thing missing is global chat like in clash of clans. In HD the people in global would be EVERYONE NOT in your NH but on your other tabs.

Your missing the fact that you and 19 others did this in your neighborhood, and in the next neighborhood another 20 did this and so on. So no one is putting any expansion items in the DD now, so there is nothing for someone to buy. Same with flagging boats and trees, your 19 other neighbors are now doing yours, same in the next neighborhood, so there will not be anyone to help in the DD.

The only ones who will be left putting up stuff in the DD and flagging for help is below level 29 because they can't join a neighborhood yet.

If anyone in a neighborhood puts anything in the DD it will be all the common stuff, even this can be worked out in the neighborhoods so ones don't have tons of common stuff. I will make eggs, you will make bacon and eggs and so on, so no need to have tons of common stuff to sell.

What many of us are saying is in the end your no longer playing the game with the numerous neighbors you had before, you will be playing the game with 19 other people. Changes the whole concept of the game and the whole way people have been playing the game. DD was already bad, but it will go further down.

We did a bunch of stuff in my neighborhood today to and as we get going I suspect we won't have the need to go outside of our neighborhood. That will leave ones out like Shealie54 who does not want to be in a neighborhood, either she will be forced to do a neighborhood or quit playing the game. These little groups become cliques and end up with an attitude of helping only themselves. There will be people getting kicked out of these cliques just cause, drama will happen, hurt feelings, and wars between cliques. I myself will pop me some popcorn and sit back when those wars hit the forum, could be entertaining.

It's the big picture that some are not seeing that changes the whole concept of the game. I'm only in a neighborhood because I see that big picture and I'm forced into doing it, I don't like it, I don't like it any better after trying it out for 2 days. I'm missing my old neighbors, my old way of playing and the concept of help all. I'm going to hang in and keep trying this neighborhood thing, because for me I can't gripe if I have no actual experience with it. But I do not know if after a set period of time if I will continue or not, because I liked the concept of help all.

I agree.. I've noticed it's been taking longer to get my boats filled. I haven't decided if I want to be in a neighborhood or not yet - so I haven't joined one. It's kind of taking the fun out of the game for me as well. I'll give it a week, if I'm still unhappy I think I might stop playing for a while.

Yes, this is exactly what I anticipate this game will turn into. I have received a few invitations from NHs and they are great farms. I truly appreciate their invitations but I just had to decline because I like to play with everyone. All are my friends. In the past, if I cannot help with a boat, I left knowing most likely someone would turn up and help the boat. But, now, I am not so sure. I am only on level 43 with a humble size of barn thus limited resources. Today I had spent diamonds to help out someone's boat order on DD. This is just becoming too stressful to see what's waiting ahead in this game. It surely loses its initial appeal to me. Anyway, I will wait for a few more days before I completely quit the game but I already lost interests in making products for the RSS and boat orders.
