I typed, "...but Christina..." and we all had a chance to think about the butch insult.
Thanks, SC, for polluting our minds for no freaking reason.

Pickaxe was filtered the other day to p*****e.....I don't have a clue why.
copying over from the idea thread complaint....
I second especially when the words that get censored are taken out of context I can't say I need 2 maids to clean my house because the word aids is censored in what language is aids offensive? acquired immune deficiency syndrome is a disease and I suppose some people might be offended if they acquired it but I don't think there is any street in any country that you can walk down and hear the local no good nicks screaming "Aids you!!"
yet because of the way the censor is set up you can not say raids or maids nor can you say raid paid maid laid aid or said if the next word typed starts with an S
sally said screws for sale....and you get sally s*** *crews for sale.
making it an option for the leader to be able to turn on or off the censor should be an option. and if the leader turns off the censor and someone gets offended by it they have 2 options report the offensive person. or leave the NH. if they are offended by the language it's probably not a good NH for them in the first place.
If people want to curse they will get creative enough to get their point across. for the rest of us I just want to heard when I said something instead of s*** *omething.
in this case I'm supposing the bad word is aids......not sure how a disease killing lots of people around the world is verboten but there it is.
Lets expand is blocked.. :(
You cant say "lock up your shiela" or "wand" ! For goodness sake, whoevers in charge of the filter needs firing!
Thanks go to SC for teaching us more bad words - one of my cubby mates was discussing how long to would take some one to do something ... it would take them a month - rendered as: it would take the*****th. Thanks to the filter, we have now learnt a new Mexican expletive. Good one, SC!
I'm so glad I found this thread...the chat filter is way too touchy.
Things I Cannot Tell My Neighborhood Right Now:
- I have 25 extra planks!
- Derby's going good! We've pulled away from third and are near another horseshoe!
And yet there's a farm In the neighborhood named '♥♥♥'. I presume I can't say that he 'should' do anything...
Seriously, filter tech has advanced a lot since the 90s...
/rant
The word "creamy" gets starred out for me! Clueless!
Could you please post in this thread normal words you have stumbled across which have become stars? :) For example, somehow is **mehow and even "so" is **. Words like that. Please don't post words which you know are blacklisted for a good reason. :)
The word that we discovered tonight is, "Trimming" A member said she was trimming trees. That made us laugh.
Hayday **** out thsnks when I mistype thanks lol
It also *** when I type a word ending in "p" and then type my friends name "imp". I find this hilarious and tease my friend about it hehe.
Yes, it's derogatory slang for a homosexual person (in English) - used world-wide. Now you've learnt a new bad word.
The filter really needs to be adjusted to take context into account and to stop blending two innocent words to make a profanity that no one would otherwise see.
Try typing pick axe.
You cant even type the name of an item that SC itself made available. Silly.
We all call them mining axes now.
Why should 'baba can' be suppressed sounds absurd
So, we were talking about GC ID's ... I said: Nat's is XYZ. The filter said: ****** XYZ. Nat was not impressed when, after checking with Google, I told her the meaning of this new word we had learnt.
Chalk up up another learning experience to the filter.
BTW, I am convinced the filter is linked to the Urban Dictionary, because all the dirty words the filter teaches us can be found there.
Simon is a member of our NH, but when we type "Simon got tapes" we get "Si*****t tapes"
Gee - we can't even discuss the weather ... Too bad if you want to say it's a bit chilly. (A *****illy)
The word "pick" gets filtered all the time. Frustrating. Can't say "pick a task" have to say choose. Can't say "pick and shovels" have to say "pickaxes" or "one of those wooden handled implements with a pointy end and shovels"
Please fix.
Thankyou
One our cubby mates said she sent sugar boats back "from whence they came". The filter tendered this as: from w******hey came" This very obscure word, hencet, defeated even Urban Dictionary. It appears the filter may just be making up words to filter.
Does not allow you to say the tool name? Curious lol
So, I told my cubby mate: Let me know if you need my sems at any stage. The filter rendered this as: sem*****y stage. Ho hum.
It is abundantly clear that the people in charge of this are **** ******* ******.
please fix it.. :) I wanna type "affraid somebody" , but its cencored. and be "affr******mebody "
"waiting for a fishing task" comes out as "waiting f********hing task."
In chat, I often leave out little words like articles. I said, "I love juice machine."
Then Supercell forced us all to consider a sexual connotation for that, by printing "I ********* machine."
Really, it is causing more embarrassment than it is saving anyone's precious sensibilities.
:thumbsdown:stupitstupitstupit:thumbsdown:
Describing my upcoming vacation in the mountains, I said I would be trimming trees. Our trusty Chat Censor blocked it to read, "t******* trees."
What..., was that some outrageously disgusting behavior practiced by Peruvian monkeys in the sixteenth century?
O, well then, by all means, censor the **** out of it.
Poof is banned we joke sometimes an say did u disappear? Poof and its blocked
Score another one for the profanity filter - It will take SC until the cows come home ... It will take S****il the cows come home. Really didn't see it until the filter helpfully pointed it out - then was totally disgusted the filter had brought it to our attention. Please SC fix the filter!
Oh yay! A New Mexican swear word to add to our vocabulary - I was talking about a dream cafe where we can "eat cream-filled desserts and never gain an ounce". The filter kindly taught us "ne*****in". It is just appalling that these horrid words are thrust into our conversations by this "overly-sensitive" filter. Please, please stop taking innocent words and turning them into something obscene! It really is beyond funny now. We don't want to see these words in our conversations!!!
came out Sh*****d
For some reason, this message in chat was blocked.
what happened before message appeared.
member had finished boat and posted next order. here is the wording
next, buttered po*****, chocolate ice cream and ue hats.
message is suppose to read
next, buttered popcorn, chocolate ice cream and ue hats.
Why was popcorn blocked?
(ue is suppose to be blue.. she misspelled it.. that's understandable)
Profanity filter THIS IS AN ODDITY HELP
My game centre name IAMMAJ is now showing as I****J on my farm since the last update so now nobody new can join my farm.
i would not have known if a neighbour had not told me that it was showing like this when they visited my farm!
I have always had this GameCentre name for years and I do not want to change it.
I am sure this has already come up, but there are so many replies.
Pickaxes is censored out, that's the only word I've come across.

thats excellent (that****cellent)
Sweet Friend (************) the entire thing!, All i was trying to do was thank my friend for helping me

Seriously guys, because of this ridiculous censuring so will people learn new swear words.
You all are making everything worse with this, it's not even funny anymore (if it have ever been)
In the beginning I went to google to see how a certain word could be a swear word.... this is how kids learn new ways of spitting out ♥♥♥♥ and that's all thanks to you guys! Be PROUD now -.-
thats exactly correct( that****actly correct)
skype(*****)
sounds exciting(sound****citing)
Nick's answer for this problem is:
"Use common sense and don't use swearwords."
I was trying to tell a neighbor that his blue beanies derby task expired. Apparently I forgot to space between "beanies" and "expired" so we got "your blue beanie***pired."
Another time I was putting up a popular item for a neighbor to buy, but I told him to be ready because I had a couple of followers who liked to snatch things up. Evidently the chat gods thought that word was a noun and not a verb.
creating(********)
Some of the thing that get stared out are crazy
Everyone needs to remember to post the previous word if it was in a sentence. It really makes a difference depending on how the filter caught it. Some words are blocked even if you enter them as a single word, but others depend on the word before it.
Example:
exactly works just fine most of the time, but if you put a word that ends with an "S" before it you get.
that'****actly when typing "that's exactly what I was going to say"
other words
heat****** for "heatstroke" or "heat stroke"
******xes for "pickaxes" if you forget the space between pick and axes.
The difficulty is and always will be one thing. As users we don't wish to read profanity so certain words or combination of letters are starred out. Whilst we might type something innocent there might be a combination or implication of something that is not initially flagrant.
Where I do feel that Supercell are restricting chat traffic is by not using a context filter.
e.g. If Some one says "you are a F****************g, H*************ing, womble, fine that should be filtered. But not when you say Yes, actually.
So, MiniGardener and I were chatting away, as you do, wandering from topic to topic. I mentioned my past as an anti-nuclear activist (I'm a Kiwi - it comes with the territory), and mentioned a particular U.S. Warship that was the centre of a protest march. A cynically philosophical Mini commented, "We bring sweetness and light wherever we go." This was rendered as "We bring ********* and light ...".
We double checked and, yes, the filter will not permit "sweetness". No sweetness in Hay Day it seems.
SC, GET A GRIP! Rein your filter in!
I had an Indian neighbour called Hitu... It was a minefield.
Danish words : Prøve ( which means try in danish) or anything that has røv in it. Makes communication a challenge especially if you are trying to help other members of your neighbourhood.
Ok. Besides the word "uterus" being filtered - really? come on - I tested very common, very rude French swear words in both English and French language settings....not one French swear word was filtered at any time.
Instead of periodically reading this thread, it seems like your time, dear SC, would be much better spent designing and coding a multi-language filter that wasn't just an enormous list of letter conditions slapped on to the chat regardless of language setting. Or, you know, you guys could buy one of the many pre-coded filters out there and integrate it, but I'd be very surprised if no one on your team was capable of coding a filter that isn't as clunky as one coded by a Coding 101 student, like the one currently in place...
Why is this thread no longer a sticky? Are you hoping it will get lost in the crowd?
Nick
Our NH still find it absolutely hilarious that "♥♥♥♥" is blanked out, as in ♥♥♥♥ Emery (name) which we understand why but the words "fanny" "♥♥♥♥" and "♥♥♥♥" are all allowable in HD chat!
Bit sexist don't u think....
obviously a US filter!
Th*******iting!
As in...
That's exciting!
Why is pick axes not allowed
As in a mining implement "pick" followed by "axes"
very odd
Update - they must of fixed that recently - lol
Hi cheif!!We are neplese we love clash of clans a lot we want to see our nations flag in clash of clans !!We tried a lot to contact u through facebook clashofclans attacks page of super cell but we were unable!!!!!!!!! Please Supercell listen to this.......We have been in lots of pain in the earthquake a few months ago if we get our flag we will feel a bit happy and get out of our pain please supercell its a humble request.....HOPING FOR A POSITIVE RESPONCE ..MY CLASHOFCLANS NAME BEGGENERSLUCK FROM TEAMJAPORMS 2 ......
Conversation with cubby mate (CM) this morning:
CM: So I will collect deed*****allets for you.
Me: sandm?
CM: s and m.
Me: Oh, of course.
How ridiculous is that? The filter picks it up when it is part of an innocent string of words, but allows us to say it outright!
As CM said, this filter is the pits!
Maybe it's just better if Supercell gives us the option to turn off the filters in HD like it did with CoC a few months ago.
I toggled it off immediately because I didn't want us to guess if clanmates had broken a clan rule and used profanities or the filters made it seemed so.
It's a useful tool to gauge the maturity level of new clanmates. Asking for troops but not getting them immediately, some newbies responded by dropping f bombs, s bombs, and c bombs in chat. So we know they aren't a good fit with us because they lack emotional maturity.
We have fun in our NH, giving a alternative saying that mean the word that was starred,as in a man wearing a stripy apron selling meat,as his trade is bleeped BUTCHERS
There is a way round this if it is a non profanity. On numerous occasions I or a hood member has put in snatched and it has been blocked. The only way is splitting it on the chat bar so for example
Snat
Ched
We've noticed that you can't put anything ending in s in front of beginning with ex which is understandable but if you are trying to say
If anyone has excess tools it can b frustrating
Why is the word "stroke" censored? One of our members husband had a stroke and it censors it when we talk about it.
Thank you
Sb
The word exciting is never allowed in my chat ,why?
I bought some juice from my hoodie and said to him that "I love juice" - - > "I *********". Really? Love juice? Omg!
The word "poof" is censored for God knows what reason. As far as I know it means disappearing and I have no idea what else it could mean. I first thought it was because the word "poo" was in it but that would mean the f shouldn't be censored but it actually is. I've never seen such a badly programmed filter as this one.
When ever I type this word {pick a} it gets beeped . Please fix this !!
They aren't going to fix any of this. There's no point reporting anything at all.
What they could do is place one of those annoying speed it up traps by every post, saying, "Make this post appear as posted? 3 diamonds."
Ha hahahaa hahah. Supercell, you know you want to.
Today I tried to use creating and it rejected it. Baffled...😏
"conspiring" was censored in our chat. It was being used to mean "plotting against". The entire word was censored.
If anyone ever wonders what a word is, you can try Urban Dictionary. Or just try Googling it and seeing if anything comes up. I Google some of my profanity oddities to see what on Earth they even mean.
Thank you Supercell for filtering out "poof" so we may have the following discussion.
I live in the US and I thought poof is a cloud of smoke. Then I looked online and it also means the product of flatulence or the sound of breaking wind. Fascinating.
Are the mist in the game produced by the cows poofing? :)
EDIT: So glad I subscribe to this thread months ago because it's a source of merriment.
Not to worry
You can still call players an ♥♥♥♥, ♥♥♥♥ or fanny these are allowed for some reason
lmol
Apparently '5 extra' ('I have 5 extra items for sale') is somehow offensive too. Seriously?
Amma is censored for some reason. This is quite frustrating, as mamma means mom in both Swedish and Finnish.
Can we expect any improvements based on the words reported here?
Are you kidding me? Phone number? What on Earth is profane about "phone number"?
Both words are completely starred out, so it's not something contained within it, but "phone number" itself that is considered obscene. Not even that great repository of dirty words, Urban Dictionary, can offer an explanation for this one. Note, if you type in "telephone number" you get tele************, so it can't be a personal safety concern, or the whole of telephone number would be censored. But then again, they censor "Skype", so maybe you are right after all.
"I have every flavor but cherry" === "I have every flavor *****erry"
Yes, since this is a family game, we need to be reminded at every opportunity never to use gay slurs while farming.
Dear SC,
I know that ur intention to censoring the swearing word, but i think the system is too sensitive...
I think we don't have to worry about someone might be swearing in chat, if they do... the leader and co-leader will kick them out eventually..
The system actually change repeated word to stars, e.g. yaaaaayyy!!! --> ya****yyy!!
Sometimes, we just want to express our feelings with these kind of expression, didnt always mean that "repeated word" was swearing... It get worse after i updated my Hay Day.. *sigh :(
I'm the leader of my NH and all of my member do complain about this problem.. Hope that SC would fix this as soon as possible..
Thanks n Regards,
Indonesia Victorious Club (IVC)
Although the censors seem to catch more than it should like "****" for "poof". There are quite a few that they don't catch and surprise me, wasn't sure if I was supposed to post those here or not.
Lucy
I would suggest no based on the original post which started this thread more than 2 years ago by Nick (see below).
I know you're trying to be helpful but you may receive an infraction for posting profanities on the forum.
"...Could you please post in this thread normal words you have stumbled across which have become stars? :) For example, somehow is **mehow and even "so" is **. Words like that. Please don't post words which you know are blacklisted for a good reason. :)"
http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...=1#post1442998
EDIT: You may wish to PM one of the 12 Moderators below and ask if it's OK to send them a list of profanities the filter didn't catch so the Mod may forward your list to Team Hay Day.
http://forum.supercell.net/showgroups.php
Every time I type "selling cheap" it gets starred out, any time I use the word cheap to mean low price the filter goes on a bender. I also have young children who have reported people for no reason just because the button is too easy to accidentally hit, hopefully those mistakes are realised by hay day as accidents.
The german word for bacon is Schinken. It's weird to not be able to write about this basic product without being reminded, that in some part of the world, it is considered rude.
