I regard them as a status symbol, therefore I have all skull walls as a TH8.
Regarding their value for defence...meh...not really important.
Level 9 walls ....so nice...wow....much hp .....such design
They show your dedication to the game.

I am upgrading Townhall in sync with walls.
So for me, walls are really important. 4 days 16 hours left for Th 9. Will start level 9 walls as soon as i get there.
I know i am gonna camp at Th 9 till i max everything out, and i mean everything :P

Walls are useful, but bang for buck, not really all that great. If you are smart about it you can get a much stronger defense with a lot less gold than simply upgrading all your walls. Unit's don't attack walls based on the level of the wall they attack them based on the layout of the walls.
You need wall, but you don't need to upgrade all of them. That said it's fun to do and it makes your bases look meaner, even if it isn't necessarily.
I was going to go to th10 but have decided to let my builders rest for a month or so while I do L9 walls.
After lvl8 (maybe even lvl7) walls are more of status symbol. I just finished my lvl9 walls last week and maxed my TH9 today:D. With a little dedication that was perfectly doable. I won't start with lvl10 walls because they take too much time (my case) or money. In my opinion anyone who farms or gems those should scratch them behind the ears and evaluate there priorities in life. Last but not least lvl9 are the best looking walls IMO.
No getting around it walls are important, but 3 million each, I'm not sure.

They are mostly a status symbol, level 7s and 8s are practically the same hp wise and only 9's chant wb count. As I have played ive always been proud of my walls to learn there is a long way to go
Two of my friends are th9, and they are at similar trophy range. One of them is level 95, and the other is level 96. Both of them have level 6 wizard towers and level 2 xbows, and both use the same farming base.
One of them got attacked by very frequently by high level farmers and lost like 300k gold every 3 days.
Her mortars are level 7, and all her walls are level 7.
The other one NEVER get attacked by high level farmers even when he keeps 4 million gold in his storages. His mortars are only level 6, but all his walls are level 8 and he has like 10 level 9 walls.
This has been for almost 2 months. I find this very strange.
Why he never get attacked although his base has a slightly weaker splash damage? Could the walls be the reason?

I definately care about walls. More than halway done with them (for TH8).
I love having maxed walls. Gives my base an intimidation factor, and hopefully some just auto-next me under the assumption my defenses will be maxed. Also it gives you something to farm for when you're doing all long upgrades, and also it is nice to be able to dump gold into something to lower your available loot when you're done farming. One thing I noticed is that, level for level, walls will always slightly survive two wallbreakers, as if there wasn't enough incentive to max them.
I'm hoping SC do something to make walls more important. I am maxed on L10 through farming but will not bother putting the effort into L11 unless they deliver more benefit on defence...zap air units for example for small but regular damage as an example. The number of air attacks are rising, ground attacks often come in the form of leaping hogs so when SC ask for 1bn gold and 100s of hours of play to get L11 walls, the obvious question is, why?
I wont mention how ugly L11s look but then with TH11, I expect they will fit in...That TH will be themed blue (and electric) for sure...well, in my opinion.
So what overpowered Air Army are you seeing that can 100% a maxed base right now?

SC have dealt with the Hogs to the point where they are very uneconomical or not even over powered anymore.
Minions / Loons are good to 50% a base but mainly have to stay away from ITs / covered ADs.
All Drags are pretty useless too.
To say walls are just a status symbol is funny to me ... They have 7,000 HP at lvl 11... That seems to be more than just a status symbol...
I think walls are very important and if they were farmed then they show a lot about the player...
Much respect to anyone that has farmed Lvl 9 walls or higher....lower than that is just an average farmer IMO
I really like that idea, sounds way cooler than the zappy ones - granted I don't own a single one of those myself, as I'm just now upgrading to TH10.
About your comment on P1 about maxing everything, everything: You don't know what you're getting into, man ;)

As almost maxed th8 I love my 225 Sculls 💀. I felt pure hate to the ugly pink wall. So yeah, I care.
That Cyan color is way too.. how to put.. idk, it stands out way too much >_<" and not to forget to mention bright.
Dark themed stuff = automatically BADASS.
About maxing everything at Th 9, i will atleast max walls before moving up. That's my minimum requirement regardless of the condition of my defenses. (i am not gemming the build time or waiting for them to slowly work their way up. i love to dump units on a base and i can't do that with maxed walls as there is nothing to farm for)
With Hogs, Loons, Jumps...they have slightly lost their importance. But they are still needed to slow down ground troops who cannot jump over / fly past them. When it comes to upgrading them, I treat them as I would treat any other defence but beyond level 8s, they do get tough to get.
yes, i am aware of that and i am VERY glad that those level 10 walls were not a part of TH 10.
I am not gonna set any specific time frame but just play game at my own pace. but given that i love to raid a lot, and i do care about gold to time ratio, it's doable.
Edit : it will take months but i can already see that i will be maxing walls before i max defenses. builders are gonna be stuck.
Wrong. not at L4. Not with spells...wrong wrong wrong...
My point is that the incentive to go and spend 4m per L11 block is very limited with walls as they stand...even upgrading to L10 delives little tangible benefit imho. Take a base with L9 walls. fire your strongest army at it...see the result. Now upgrade to all L10 walls. Fire the same army at it...see the result. I think damage done and loot stolen will be similar - so, like i say, why upgrade walls at the higher levels other than for status? I did my L10s for status and as a personal challenge...I know that they dont actually protect me much better than L9 walls when people really try and crack my base. Like I say, drags and freeze spells are no walk in the park. People lose on defence all the time despite having maxed out bases in L11 walls
When hunting, people use uneconomical units all the time...
Walls are important, but defenses are more important :)
Walls display how well u can farm
I have seen that even when I am at full storages I am not getting attacked because of my walls...The point is that walls help to scare away the attacker for the most part(hogs or air)

I think that while walls are important defenses are much more so.
I don't plan on getting anymore than skull walls until I max my entire defense including TH10.
I used to care about walls and then I realized how useless they were after a certain point where defense doesn't even matter. I was getting 1/2 starred regardless and so were ppl with lvl 11 walls. Its all about the heroes now. I regret never upgrading mine :rolleyes: But getting them up to a certain point like lvl 8/9 is crucial. Benefits of high lvl walls is that you almost never get farmed below 2600.
Walls, the MOST valuable thing in clash. People judge your base upon the walls. Say, a town hall 10 with level one walls, ridiculous right? A base with not-so-good defenses with level 8 walls looks harder to beat than a base with a little better defenses but level 7 walls. End of comment :cool:
I believe walls to be almost solely a psychological defense, it scares away potential raiders as well as it serves as a status symbol and representation of how dedicated you are to the game. I'm actually almost in the exact same place as you are regarding walls and I plan to continue them as I would any other defense. They might not help as much as some of the other defenses, but if I had to choose a townhall 9 with lvl 10 walls and lvl 1 defenses, or a townhall 9 with lvl 1 walls and maxed defenses, walls would easily win me over.

You spend a bunch of time doing level 10's, which are imo not worth it at all. Then you want a boost for level 11?
You spend hundreds of hours playing and 750 million gold for level 10s! But level 11 is not worth it...
SC might put a feature in to give an incentive to gem to max walls but oh boy don't farm the walls and then expect it.
I think they're important. But I'm to lazy to upgrade them ;)
Yes for two reasons..
They do work against ground troops (ok not hogs...) and..
They are a farmers calling card...
And on a side note: I will silently judge you for your ♥♥♥♥ walls...

They really matter as you rise up the ranks, last thing I want to do is have lvl 2 walls and th 10
They are important in a way. High walls makes people who ground attack scared. Plus, if they want their heroes to clean up, it decreases their chances. Just like high level air defenses scares away air raids.
Also, it shows you play a lot and gives people a thought that you might be more likely to revenge them.
They also look cool!
I'd say walls are very important, but obviously they represent almost absurd diminishing returns at higher levels. I would never prioritize them over defense, but all excess gold should be dumped into walls.
Also, I don't upgrade them so wall breakers can't break through, I just assume wall breakers will. They are upgraded so when the wall breakers are used up other units waste a ton of time chewing through the last compartments. This has saved me a ton of loot and makes it very hard to 100% a base with a ground army. Plus, many farmers skip bases with higher level walls.

I dont want a boost. I dont really care. I'm not exactly itching to go farm 1bn gold. BUT I am saying that to entice me to do all L11, id need a reason to engage in the intense farming because the walls dont offer a useful uplift vs L10 as it stands.
