I'd argue that being more of a target is a good thing. If you are less of a target then your base keeps getting skipped until someone who wants to decimate you. On the other hand with my maxed resources, some guy take out my th and tries to raid empty collectors that i just emptied.
Also in theory if you and I can farm the same amounts per day than I'm making 432k more than you every day. It adds up.
i recently got to th10 and have had a builder constantly on DE drill and collectors...im all about the investment over time it pays off!
