how long do you think? vote on the poll (:
No poll....personally I think another 10 years...
Really depends if they destroy it or improve it with the updates.
I can easily see it lasting for several years still, especially if updates start focusing on improvement of gameplay (and fun factor) but unfortunatly can also see it fade away fast if greed take over and they update just for milking players for their last pennies :-/
I think it is not near at all to end. They plan to keep it going forever, so I would say forever.
I'd say 15 years. It's gonna b so weird. Theres gonna b th 3 in crystal, cuz more and more cups are constantly being added to the game anytime someone attacks at under 1000 cups
I am thinking another couple years before it runs its course...at least for me. If I were a maxed th10, probably not that long.
Personally I think it's hard to say. It could go either way. With the momentum they have now it will surly last at least another few years. A lot of things can happen to a company in a years time. As long as the game brings in revenue for them I don't think we have to worry for awhile though. Bring out new content and features every month or two and keeping you costumers happy is not an easy job I would think. Even for the best developers.
If they don't get off the "Make a new level for something" update strategy, It won't last too much longer.
Start developing end game content and leave the levels where they are for a while. This allows some that are close to catch up a bit and gives those that are maxed an actual reason to play. Also improving game functions and fixing bugs that have plagued the game since release.
Nobody wants new level of anything anymore.
1-2 years. Most probably until some other things catch up.
You won't be able to max out everything as it had gone with th8 or th9 except your a gemmer. so when you got your th10 and have to destroy the overpowered disco infernos on other th10's then it begins to suck and you will quit the game or don't play so often as you usualy did.
You will go on to a farmer - only collecting what your mines and collectors and drill produces a day. And so if you don't spend more gems you will quit someday, because the bases of your enimies will soon getting better. Who not yet played won't start a new base. So easy raidings won't be outside there.
Time to quit at th10:(
2 years is an eternity in gaming. Still, I think CoC has some momentum with newer players right now (the commercials). I'd say 1-2 years more of high activity, and by then we will either have some serious development put into the game or they will let it go out to pasture.
Many players forget that a game getting boring to them does not make it boring to everyone else. They also don't think about product life-cycles. The game may have already reached its peak in terms of money spent on development, and now they are going to use advertising to boost the return of their "finished" product. Perfectly valid strategy, and players should not take it as some metaphorical slap in the face from SC.
On the other hand, it is possible SC wants to keep pouring money into the game and release new features to keep the dedicated players playing (and paying). Time will tell.
Either way, from reading about SC and Softbank, it seems they have a very long term strategy planned. Not necessarily for CoC, but as a gaming company that makes products with world-wide appeal. Personally I think CoC is a masterpiece, and I would love to see it further improved.
I'm not quite max defence but getting there slowly although with almost every update adding something new i feel as though I'm running on a hamsters wheel. I couldnt agree with you more, this is where other large mmo games that have lasted a very long time have got it right. Let's see some gameplay features!
Again, another post i agree on. It's all down to how SC go about future content. Personally i would like to see it go on for years but that is out of our control...
Personally i believe supercell is just trying to make a s much money as possible and disregarding the community. We are the ones who make this game what it is yet nothing is improved for us. At the rate supercell is ruining this game, i would give it another year and a half... Max
this game isnnt gonna last a long time. I guarantee the game will die within the next few years like 2-4. it just wont work with it going upto TH30 and stuff, people will quit, the game will die, nobody will notice, and SC will close the game. as much as they don't want it to, it will have to end at on epoint, and at this rate, it wont stand for 5 more years im sure
Right now, instead of enriching the game, SC is concentrating on advertising everywhere.
If they continue to do this the game will die within 2 years.
Unless they come up with something spectacular, I think the game will last at max 2 more years.
I also think longevity is tied to new play mechanics. Right now, for me at least, it is pretty repetitive. With maxing out everything at TH9 taking so long, there just isn't a lot to do that you haven't done before and kind of turns into a grind. I still like the game and experimenting with different army compositions and base designs, but that gets old after awhile.
1-2 years if it keeps making new levels. If yhey introduce new play styles itll last a long. long time.
At Town Hall 10, people will probably get bored quickly if something big doesn't happen. What this game needs is something more interactive that you can't really indefinitely win.
Sweg? Really?
3+ depending on updates. I would like to see more kinds of troops. Making strategy a hallmark is key.
I dont wanna think about this! Dont kill the vibe!
For many many many more years to come, there will always be new players coming to this game regaurdless of how many quit... I've seen it in a few games where I've reached end game and on one game that took 3 years lol and still you would always see new players to game , even when game stopped adding lvls upgrades etc.. Till they figured hey the game still holds... Let's add another update... Lol you can tell a good game if its. Done all it can do to pull customers in and yet players keep rolling in and spending real money on it... Dont know how many of these threads I've seen, but this will be my first an last reply to one like it...
