I did archers, I would recommend giants if you use them a lot.
I prefer to use wb giants barb arch and gobs, but im pretty flexible

4) Level 6 giants are a must, but you best wait until after your elixir hunting compositions get up to speed. You have camps, lab upgrades, DE storage & Drill, and a dark barrack that all want your elixir to (in particular you want those camps upgraded ASAP). Since giants are elixir heavy (for a farming troop) they are best used sparingly when hunting for the purple stuff
I upgraded my barbarians first and now I'm doing giants. The archers are next it all depends on the strategy and what troops you use the most though
I would recommend giants or balloons first.
I did balloons first.
Archers should be done last(or at least after the important stuff)
7.5mil elixir is better spent of the DE drills and army camps.
Balloons will give you a fast and cheap army that can three star many bases and two star others.
You said that you didn't like using balloonions. That was because you had level 5 balloons. Level 6 are a completly different troops.
Giants are also very useful due to their huge boost in DPS and HP.
However, balloonions is better for pushing and high level farming. If you can't find inactives, just switch over to this and go for storages higher up. The better league badge helps with recruiting.
Once you get your xbows set up, you can start farming in crystal with balloonions.
It will really help your clan, The Revolution find more members.

Yeah, do giants first if you use them. I did archers first to get into good clans but I was inexperienced and foolish;)
Giants and barbarians improve much more. Balloons are also good for pushing and DE farming but don't do them if you won't use them.
