Deciding to upgrade
Hey guys I have been asking this questions lots of time and I'm gonna do this again. I'm a late th8 that has mostly maxed out my th8 base. I still have 80 lvl 7 walls left to go to lvl 8.Hidden tesla are lvl 4,one going to lvl 5.Mortars and wiz tower are maxed. Cannons are 2 lvl 10 2 lvl 9 and 1 lvl 8.Archer tower are lvl 8 for all. So do u think I should go to th9?I know that I should max out my base but seriously is waiting for like another month to max out my th8 worth when I could have gotten my xbows and AQ and having the time of my life maxing out my th9 base. I just would like to know if I have the basics to go to th9.If not pls direct me to the things that I still have to upgrade. P. S
My barb king lvl 7 and air defense are max lvl 6

Finish maxing TH8. If you don't, you will just be a weaker TH9. xbows will not save you. If this is your attitude, once you reach TH9 you will see that you still get smashed, and you will try to justify going to TH10 for the inferno towers. Then you will be like every other premature TH10 in crystal league.
Just do it properly and max your base while you are still able to attack rich TH7s for good profit. You'll max everything faster this way than if you were to go to TH9 and you can no longer attack TH7s for good profit.

I would really advice you to finish all your defenses before upgrading. You can time your TH upgrade so that it finishes right after some of your defensive upgrades, but at the same time it's good to keep one worker free while the TH is upgrading to finish off your last walls. IMO TH8 is the last TH that can easily be maxed, since TH9 comes with 2 sets of walls and lots of hero levels..
When you get to TH9 you get your nice Xbows and AQ, yes, but you are stuck with raiding near-maxed TH8s (usually those are the only 8s with decent resources), TH9s and TH10s, and it really does feel tough in the beginning compared to TH8 - at least it did for me. You need to change your farming mentality a bit as well, because all upgrades are much more costly and take much more time to finish. You will also want to time your farming and TH upgrade so that you got maxed gold and elixir when it finishes (naturally), and preferably 62.5k DE or something like that, so you can up your AQ to level 2 straight away.
So my advice is definetly to max out, it will help you in the long run. When you get to TH9, 2 workers should start building your 2 Xbows, one should do AQ level 2, one on the lab, and one on whatever you prefer - I went with the new WT, but in retrospect, I think army camps would have been a better choice.

Do not upgrade.
While the Xbows and AQ are tempting, they're not worth the rushed th. As Hawdog said earlier, the xbows aren't going to save you on defense, and you're going to want to upgrade to th 10 to get the inferno towers, which just makes you a weak th 10 that people laugh at. Along with that, you get less loot from raiding easier bases (th 7&8), which will make maxing what defenses you already have take even longer.
And th 10 farmers that have any idea about what they're doing will decimate your base, and take more of your loot than before, making it that much harder to save for upgrades.
Max the rest of your defenses. You will need those lvl 10 archer towers. Your remaining walls don't absolutely HAVE to be maxed, but it is recommended. People think twice before attacking bases with lvl 8 walls. Your teslas don't HAVE to be maxed either, as they are pretty cheap anyways, but I would definitely get them to at least level 5.

i wouldnt upgrade just yet, max your defenses and even you Tesla! they are very important when they are high level, they can one shot most teir 1 troops an can tear giants in half. max your lab out except for pekkas(i find them to be a waste of time and resources) and try to get or hogs and minions to lvl 4. they will help you out so much in th 9 and try to get your king to lvl 9 or 10, he will be very helpful as well. after youve done them id recommend upgrading your town hall and remember that its some upgrades to get off the list and wont hold you back in the future!

Don't max until defenses done and Barb King Lvl 10. Walls maxed is optional. But keep taking advantage of those town hall 7s to farm right now, you won't be able to attack them at th9 because the loot penalty is so steep.

you're good to go
anyway, do not upgrade because of xbows... they will not make you stronger, they will actually make you weaker...
as said above as TH9, you will be pawned by TH10 guys and those xbows will not help you.
but if your motivation is the AQ, more camps space, more spells, and Lv.6 troops then you're good to go
get AQ and max out labs, spell factory and those camps asap. you may want to do elixir upgrade first and spend all your gold into walls. Xbows is not priority because it will not help. The best defense you can do as a early new TH is to keep your gold as low as possible in your storage.

Max your walls! You will have more trouble farming walls at th9, take the extra time and MAX your walls.
