Any good examples of this?

i have an asymmetical base. i'm nearly max th8 and it stays by itself in the 2200 range as long as i rearm traps.
i gave up on symmetry because against a better army, your base needs the advantage of surprise and confusion. if you can bait your enemy into attacking a seemingly weak side but it's actually your strongest side, then you have a big advantage.
sure there are lots of pretty th8 designs that can defend well in gold and lower, but to me that's not the point - because anyone can defend against same th or lower as long as the base isnt garbage. i need a base that can beat hogs, mass air, barch, giant/archer/healer, balloonions, and gowipe since these are the things i see at crystal, and this just could not be accomplished with a 'fair' symmetrical base despite me really wanting a pretty base :P
visualize four cannons.. one in the middle of each edge of the base.. they won't cover each other as they have short range and can be picked off easily.
Instead, if you put two closer to one corner, and the other two closer to the other corner, they are harder to beat.. this will either mean spending a larger part of army getting through that side, or choosing the easier option of other corners.. majority of people are expected to choose the easier route, hence you can design your base to focus remaining firepower to those sides, instead of trying to cover all four sides.
echoes my thoughts.. thanks for commenting !
