How difficult to get fish fillet?

So now, I am at level 27, and my ship is being built. My 12th boat is arriving, and it asks for fish fillets. Based on 7-11th boat, it should be 3 crates, in which I have to use all 3 ask-for-help. I have been helping others to fill crates lately (filled 77 for others so far), and it seems to me fish fillets are kinda common to be asked and left. So I wonder whether I should restrict login until 2 days later so that I have ~16 hours to get some fillets myself. I should be able to do all other 6 crates by the way.

You will have to spend time making a lure to fish with before you can catch one. Free lures take 1.5 hours. If you use a voucher it goes faster.

I see. I do have 17 vouchers. In case I am asked 21 fillets for the 3 crates, how long would it take normally to get them myself?

Fish fillets are rare and prized items for higher level players. Many people will not fill fish crates.

However, as with sugar and dairy, people in lower levels will fill them. In the case of fish, people who have opened their fishing areas but do not yet have fish pies, fish soup, etc. They have nothing else to do with their fish fillets but sell them or fill crates with them.

You might have trouble getting your neighbors to fill fish crates. But IME, if you open it up to everyone, someone will fill just about any crate. Put an ad on something in your RSS after you flag your crates, and your ad will be flagged in the newspaper. People will rush to your farm to see how they can help.

Thanks for the response. I guess I have no choice but trying my luck then. Although my ship is 2d 11h from being built, I dont see myself much chance filling the crates myself. Ship is arriving in 2h, and luckily, it is now weekend.

It might be tough catching that many fish yourself. Making the lures takes time, even using vouchers, and then there's a refresh time for the fishing area. You can open additional areas, but they take LEM.

If I were you, I'd ask for help here on the forum. It's your 12th boat. People will want to help you. There's someone trading fish fillets in the expansion item trading thread, and someone offering Tom's services in exchange for expansion items there, too. There's the food trading thread. There's the boat help thread. People here will come through for you.

You can always send your boat away completely empty. That is what I would do in this instance.

Ah, right. Didn't pick up on that. Bad timing repairing the fishing boat then. 😢 Fish fillets are a scarce commodity. Hopefully someone who uses nets will answer your call for help. Good luck!

I havent been on since I was studying a course. I am back now.

I believe it is hard to trade with android and no Game Center/Facebook? But you brought up Tom for me, which I may be able to hire for one day if I get a few more diamonds. That is last resort.

Edited: all 3 crates were filled by random helpers within an hour. Thanks for all the help.

Glad to hear it.

IME, all crates will be filled if you place an ad. Definitely worth trying, for difficult crates.

True. In fact, I found 6 fillets in a shop after that, and filled them for someone's crate just now to return the favour :p 108 crates filled so far. Will take 3 more weeks for 500.

Yes, I think that's really changed the game. You're still out of luck if you have more than three crates you can't fill, but the flag in the DD means just about any crates you flag will be filled, and quickly.

It also lets me go right up to the deadline. If I find I can't fill crates I thought I could, I can flag them with only minutes left to go, and they'll be filled - if I also put an ad on something in my RSS.

I suspect a lot of people are playing this game with no real neighbors. They might follow a few people, but other than that, they don't have friends. So the flags in the DD are the only way they can help people and get gift cards.

Take me as example, I found the game in Google Play randomly. I have no real neighbours, though there is now one that we are starting to help each other. For the other three, I just follow the shop since they always have raw materials. I always buy items to refill for crates.

I have more the enough neighbors to get my fill of crates to help but my kid would rather search the DD for boats to help. I have heard her say "ooh this one's advertising ice cream, and he needs help with his boat" and she will go help the boat before she buys the ice cream. Ok ok she's crazy but we like her.
