False dichotomy, I know!
Let's get into the grey areas and talk more often.
Do you tend to use your clan castle troops more for raiding or to have as an added defense against raids on your base?
I tend to use them only for defense. I ask for defensive troops such as archers and wizards in my requests, and so it's annoying when people who speak English donate giants and healers to me.
I tend to ask for giants (4), they are excellent for defense.
I don't use CC troops for raids
We mostly donate wizards, archers, and dragons so they are used by me for both raiding and defense at any given time.
To me Defence is most important, but I use CC in attacks when I need to. I have a second profile in my clan I use as Dragon Factory so I'm never wo protection. At least not the first defence.
The only thing that pleases me more than giants coming out of a defending cc is a healer.Quote:

I use them on most of my attacks. I request troops as soon as I come back from a raid so they are there for defence when I log out in between army builds and sitting there ready for the next raid if I don't get attacked.

For once I agree with dahimi here, though I don't look at it as a handicap to not use the CC troops for raids. I only raid bases that do not require the use of CC troops.Quote:

I usually use them for defense because I only have two other members in my clan besides myself and it almost never gets filled. So if I use them for offense then go on defense i'll have nothing to defend with.
I mainly use it on defense, but when I'm in trouble I'll use my cc for raiding.
I also have a second account to be a dragon/wizard slave for me. When you have the ability to use the best troops every raid, you fail much less.Quote:

If I deploy my whole army and need more, I use my cc. Just a question of the base I attack.

I use them for both a lot, but I raid more than I defend (th picks don't trigger cc) so i end up raiding with my cc more often

Interesting how the poll results are pretty evenly distributed so far.
Not a fan or all giants in a clan castle on defense or offense. Although a few can be a pain to deal with when attacking if they are mixed with archers and wizards as you can't just lightning and eliminate all the troops.Quote:

I virtually never use my CC for attacks. My donate ratio is about 5/1 in that regard. I'm honestly not sure why as I have a great clan with good donates? I guess I'd feel greedy if I asked every battle as I battle much, much more than anyone else in my clan. I have lots of TH4-7 in my clan so I do ask for certain high level troops from my other high level players. Normally 1 L2-3 drag and 2 L5 wiz in my CC or else 5-6 wizards. If the rare occasion comes up where I do use them for attack, I'm happy with the drag or wizards.
Probably the same amount of each. I don't request much anymore, though. Don't know why.:p

Depends on the troop. Dragons and wizards should only be defense in my opinion. Everything else can be used for everything. The only thing that should always be used for attacking are wallbreakers and giants forsure
I love seeing giants in the clan castle. Lure them out and kill them with one minion! I hate seeing archers, wizards, minions, and drags. use my cc more for raiding mainly because I attack other people more than other people attack me.Quote:

Defending, since I can't feel that I can rely on my clan mates to fill the castle before I log off.
I use my cc troops every raid and have them on defence, 7 wiz every time which is very useful for de farming
I only use them in case of emergency, to get 50%.
Otherwise they stay in my castle for defense.
I use them too when I got troops I don't want and I want to get rid of them :p
I try to use cc as much as i can when raiding. 30 extra troops makes a difference and using cc a lot gives others teh chance to donate a lot...win win imo.

Use them far more in attack when pushing for trophies and tend to go for wizzies
I use them for both. I get my 25 spaces rammed full of barbarians. On defence they're awesome, hugh damage and hit points mean they just swamp enemy troops. On offense, I use them as back up to my main army unless I'm planning in extended raiding periods. My newest tactic is to deploy them along side my Barb king, use his rage and watch my BARBARIAN HORDE sweep through the enemy base. It's devastating.
I use my CC mostly for defense. Though, lately, during a Crystal trophy push, I have been using my clan castle troops on occasion to try, usually near the end of the battle, and get an extra star.
I have been always been a heavy donator in the clans I have been a member of- but nothing burns me more than when I watch a clanmates battle replay, and I see them spamming their CC troops at the beginning of a raid. I think: "I'm so glad I gave you those lvl 5 wizards that you asked for so you can dump on an collector attack against a TH6." :mad:
