Started attacking other players today. I am level 12/TH3. This morning I was attacked and my defense held (don't think he really attacked because only 1 gravestone). I thought I would seek revenge so I click revenge only to find that my attacker was level 52/TH7. ♥♥♥? Doesn't the game attempt to match levels? I don't think I would be able to even break one of his walls.

Level is completely irrelevant. Only trophies matter.

To clarify further on what the other player said; you are matched with players in your trophy range, there are massive loot penalties to keep it fair. If they dropped one troop, most likely the player was dropping trophies. The logs are very precise in what attacks have been on your base.
He can maul your base and gain a measly 500 gold and elixir, you could revenge and get 50,000 gold and elixir.Quote:

Chief, this is just a person who is sub-200 trophies which is kind of the "Twilight Zone" of CoC. You have nothing to worry about from these players because being an active player, and with the loot penalty in place they would gain nothing to raid you!
Sadly though, the search for attacks is done through trophy range so people can use and abuse this the way they see fit. Try not to let it frustrate you in the future as it is not going away. Good luck on your adventure and have fun!
My understanding is that matches occur at a plus/minus 200 trophy range, so it's possible you'd run into higher level players. Additionally, as has been noted, if he was dropping trophies (deployed a single troop and then left), you might find yourself with a revenge that makes no sense. It's just the nature of the game. Take heart, though! Soon you'll be able to do the same thing. :)

Alright, if it's just trophies that match players then all is good. Just used to playing games that matched strength of opponents in matchmaking.Quote:
