Max EVERYTHING. :) That's what I did, now i'm working on Barb King to level 10 (currently 6) and DE troops!
You will not get more loot as th8 than you get now, so there is no reason to go th8 unless you have literally nothing to spend your gold on.

You are ready. Getting the walls done is a big thing in my opinion, because one they are hard to catch up if you fall behind, and two generally if you max walls, your defenses are maxed as well. Good base

Personally, I'd max defences and upgrade the rest (at least what I have time for) during the 8 day wait for the th upgrade.
Start the upgrade, and upgrade everything while your th is upgrading.
