Feeling the same growing boredom. As a potential cure I have thought about upgrading to th10 so I would have access to the rest of max troops and then just play on offensive. So what if I lose on defense? Basicly just forget about keeping builders busy, just play when I feel like it to try win raids as high as possible.
Working for months and years to no real conclusion, sounds very similar to the old Spectrum game, made, I think by Phoenix. in the 80's.You never 'won' but you stole (raided), traded (donate/receive) and upgraded lots and lots.
I played it well into the early 90's, altogether for about 5 years with no real way of winning...I never even stopped playing, my Spectrum gave up on me and I didn't replace it.
Even back then, open ended gameplay wasn't to everyone's taste, many of my friends tried it and went back to Track and Field pretty quickly which gave instant feedback. Me, I always loved this type of loosely structured game where you can play how you like. Be 'good and noble' and donate lots of highly prized troops, or be a bit more 'morally flexible' and Hop or Troll for whatever you can get. All bring something to this highly sophisticated, intelligent (not really for kids) game...come on, who doesn't love booting Hoppers and trolls once you're on to them? ;)
If you're more a Track and Field guy, then go and play those sorts of games but don't criticise this game just because it's not to your taste, when it is to many other peoples.
Could trade Slaves in Elite by the way...imagine that nowadays!
You've reached the part in the game where SC is basically telling you to buy gems or get lost. A drug dealer does the same thing: gives you some for free and then starts charging you when you're hooked. It's ghoulish and sadistic, but people are always more than happy to give their money to ghoulish sadists. Clash on!
How strange that a game gets thougher with more experience..
It is a game.. You win, you lose.. It should be about fun..!! Townhall lvl doesn't matter.. You have an army and you go raid/crush an enemy.. You should also max your village before upgrading TH.. I did this.. Took me a long time.. But who cares.. I did it.. now i'm th9.. Still having fun.. Waiting for better troops.. Perfect..!! Means you don't get slapped around by people with no patience..
If you don't have fun playing this game.. You should quit..
If you say SC wants your money.. They would make it cheaper..
long upgrade times and high cost.. Good.. Gives you time to save up..
lose to much loot.. Build a decent base or drop in cups..
can't find loot.. Learn how to farm, anybody can do this..
You all sound like babies that think satisfaction comes with higher troops and better defence..
Higher troops means higher TH what means more loot but harder to get..
Better defence means you get better opponents, the weak won't try...
But this is my opinion.. Could be wrong..

If they want your money they will lower costs so much that everybody will gem their th10 base..
Meaning.. There will be no easy farming.. People get bored.. People quit.. Nobody left to attack.. Game stops..
