Battery drain & deactivating animations

I have been playing Coc since a few months now and i have to say, it is a real awesome game !
Since the game is so nice, I play it alot but that really, really drains my phones(SG S3)battery, even if the phone is charging on 1A input, the battery still decreases !!!

My question is if it would be possible to add a feature in the settings, which allows players to de/activate animations within their own village, like goldmines, elixier collectors, workers etc and especially the army camp!!!!
I am not sure if this will solve the problem, but I am sure that it will save a little bit of my battery.

Your clearly playing to much, take a break while your troops are training to let your phone charge.

I don't think this will solve anything or help your battery, It depends ( I believe) on the servers, Just deactivating for you, will not solve it,


As the servers have many other players, And this is draining your Battery, as all these features of the game, are stored in servers, (I think :D)

There is no "playing to much", a game should be played as long as the player wishes to play it :D If i would log out after every fight, it would be nonsense to even keep playing, since I get attacked pretty quick after logging out and I always lose alot of resources, usually as much as I get in one good fight, do you see any logic behind that? :D

And it would clearly be possible to program a function to allow animations to be deactivated. Since the game has to be downloaded in order to play it, it sure isnt a 100% server based game, which means that various functions( such as the elixier production animation, the gold production animation, the army camp animation etc etc etc) are stored within players phones. So they can be deactivated on every players phone, if the possibilty to do so would be offered by Supercell^^

It could just be a simple programmed boolean(or whatever) within every class of the game (troup class, collector class and so on) which would just "outcomment" the allready written code for the animations^^ it is not hard at all, it is just a question of time and effort :)

You make programming sound so easy...I know how to program/code and writing the code is easy. What makes the overall process hard is when you have to test your coding and make sure all other features of the game work as they should with out any problems. Hey, it gets easier when you find a problem then the fun trouble shooting begins....which all adds up to hours of code editing and testing....time that could be spent on other aspects of the game.

I would suggest maybe dropping cups so youre a stronger base in a weaker trophy range or redesigning your base. So its not as easy to defeat. As for your resources use them up before you log off and if you're waiting on builders use that gold on walls.

First of all, thank you for taking time and responding, I am sorry but I really have to take this topic into discussion..
Well, the boolean idea was just a simple example of how it could be done. I do program alot myself and you are definitely right, writing the code is easy and takes 10% of the time , 90% of the time is used for finding the mistake and a solution to it :D

Buuuuut, if one is able to program a game like CoC and if one is able to program animations, one should really be able to program a simple function to disable those.. it really isnt a big deal, escpecially not for Supercell, they get alot of money through all the pay2win players and they sure have grown and improved alot.

And even if it takes some or maybe alot of time to program a function like this, it definitely IS an aspect which should be worked on, because updates are released in order to improve the game. Do you remember the Android bug that came with the second last update, a bug that sometimes crashed the game when starting it? It just could have been left like that, players could have closed the game and restarted it and it would work, but instead of leaving the problem, it got fixed really quick.

So,I have to say.... a game like CoC with graphics which are not the very best and an engine which should not require alot of a phones resources REALLY shouldnt decrease a phones battery while the phone is being charged with an 1A charger(which is double of the regular Samsung Galaxy S3 charger as far as I know).
I can play other games without problems, games like GTA or racing games with real goods graphics and an engine that uses alot more resources than the CoC engine. So this really has to be fixed, I am sure that I am not the only one with that problem.

I have dropped alot in trophies already, I am lvl 70 now and dropped from 2100 to 1400, the problem is not the trophy range, the problem is that even in the 1400 range, players attack me with almost every unit and spell lvl 6 and this is really, really annoying. My base is really good, it withstands every attack of players that are equal to my lvl but I dont get attacked by players like that, I get bashed by players over lvl 100 and I think that this really is not fair at all.

And using the resources everytime before I log off would not bring me any further, an x-bow upgrade costs 5million gold and I cannot farm that amount of gold in 2 hours ish, it takes some time to get all of that and I dont want to spent money for filling my storage, that would be the worst to do :D

Agree that the battery consumption is harsh yes, but when i plug my ipad in and play, it hardly uses any battery. For example, when i dont plug it in and it dies, recharge till it comes on (5%) and keep pluggend in while playing, can offer hours of playing. The key is to keep it pluggend in i guess? And yes, during attacks it uses more battery then while just chatting and keeping the connection alive

I agree with the idea though, it is something that could potentially be implemented to save battery, thuis increase game-time.
