New Rune System; Can solve many player requested ideas
I have actually been thinking about this idea for a while and have even been scrolling through the list of already proposed ideas looking for it. I was sure I must not be the only person that has thought of this, but I can't seem to find anything similar. So here it is:
I believe they were called runes back when i use to play World of Warcraft so fellow players might better understand what I am talking about. There would be a new building, similar to the laboratory, that would be used to create these runes. It would consist of Major and Minor runes, which would have sub-categories offensive and defensive. Examples:
Major Runes:
These will be more damage specific, to actually improve your offense and defense.
Offensive:
-Archers have a damage increase of 10%
-Buildings around the dragon (not yet being attacked) have receive a dot (damage over time)
-Golems give off an aura around them, troops take 10% less damage
Defensive
-All splash damage increased by 10%
-Attack speed of single target troops increased by 20%
-(or building specific) Air defense also has 25% splash damages to targets right beside main target
-Lightning rod, absorb damage on first lightning bolt on certain building
Minor Runes:
These runes will be have more visual effects and won't affect the outcome of battles
Offensive:
-Different armor or colours to certain troops
-Different effects on their attacks (flaming arrows, bigger blasts etc)
-Different types of armor for your BK and AQ
Defensive:
-Different visuals on the attacks your defenses make
-a variety of layouts and backgrounds for your village
-Weather conditions for your village
These are just some quick ideas I came up with. Obviously there is an unlimited amount of options for these. The point I want to focus on is that it allows for some customization, and some differentiation. That won't be completely obvious when you come across a new village so it will allow for new challenges. I was thinking it would be cool if you maybe pay 1 million gold 1 million elixir and maybe 10,000de (just example numbers) so that it doesn't throw off your resources consumption too much. It would randomly generate a rune that may take 3 days. This would mean you can't just purchase the best rune that works for you, you have to work with what you get. This would lead to village arrangement changes to better suit your improvements and try to maximize your village's potential.
I really think this feature would work because it works for both the offense and defense. It is a balanced feature that would improve the game, and allow for a lot more thinking and strategy based on what runes you have available to you.

EDIT: Forgot to add, you would only be able to have one type of each rune active at a time. So 1 Major offence, 1 major defense, 1 minor offence and 1 minor defense.
