So why are we charged gold to search for a fight? Elixir makes more sense, no?
I agree and that spells were the first step in achieving this so i would suspect in the near future that they will change this
This is the best switch i can ever imagine. Even right now i am stuck with 4 mil elixir unused. gold? nil
I can't use my elixir other than donating it to raiders. I have kept storages on the outer portion without any traps. i feel good when someone takes away elixir. better than watching it getting wasted.
I was totally supportive of this change, until i got to th10 - now having to use stronger armys costing more elixir im struggling to break even let alone make a profit.
So i now think it would be better to give the player a choice of using gold or elixir so u can choose depending on what resource u are tryin to save. :)
I agree.
Gold has too much use in this game compared to elixar hence why it is scarce.
Searches should be a choice of:
750 gold
750 elixir
or 15 dark elixir
Then we get a choice of what we want to spend searching. (Also slightly lower than the current 1000 per search)
I have dry periods of gold and dry periods of elixir. I've found that dry periods of elixir are harder to come back from. I don't think a change is a good idea. Usually, when I raid, I can pay for my army and make a small profit on elixir. On gold, the entire raid is profit. Using gold to find the match is better than wasting the entire elixir profit.
Absolutely agree, as a TH10 I'm finding gold in abundance, I'm at 2800 - 2900 trs, I started a poll in the ideas section for spell cost to be a choice and people voted for having a choice. My army costs 110k elixir and some DE, spells cost approx 140k elixir and although I don't use spells every time it's still around 180k elixir cost per raid.
Growing up in coc I had elixir overflowing but now........ not so. 😕
It it just makes sense to have the choice for "NEXT" and spells 😎
When you're farming and you're over the initial 'new town hall' elixir drain of factory, lab and camps then I would agree that there is not enough use for elixir. HOWEVER, once you start pushing and get beyond the point where hogs are king then elixir becomes a real issue - most armies require 4-5 spells and if you are using units like dragons, wiz, pekka, etc, there is just no way of making enough juice to cover the costs. Hopefully SC won't go down this route to appeal to the farmers (I am usually one) at the expense of those chasing cups. A better answer would be to give the option of elixir or gold cost for both searching and spells!
it doesn't make much sense to charge gold, but then again, charging elix would upset a lot of trophy hunters, which are SC's big spenders. I like the above suggestion for the player to chose which to use. Thats a nice idea.
This is the view from a pure gold farmer. Yes, for you, it would be better for next to cost elixir. But for people trophy hunting or using spell heavy or large cost armies for de it would continue to drain on the elixir. Troops and spells already cost elixir. I agree the next cost needs to be fixed but increasing the elixir burn isn't the answer.
Whilst I get where you are coming from, my point is SC told us in a previous update that they wanted to make a clear distinction that elixir is for attacking and with that they changed spells from gold to elixir...so logically, NEXT should be charged in elixir...
But yes, from my perspective, it would be beneficial since I see elixir as near useless. But the fact remains regardless of the motivation, given SC's directive, elixir is the logical choice to power searches...giving people choice could be a nice idea although i doubt that would ever happen
it is evident that CoC economy is unbalanced: every base I encounter has a lot of elixir and no gold... this is because the gold is more useful than elixir, but the lack of gold causes less battles -> less elixir spent for troops and spells -> more elixir and less gold in your storages...
i think this is against SC too, because elixir is too easy to have, i think nobody buys elixir with gems nowadays. For example making troops upgrades is very easy...
