Well, both are.
I'm choosing to do my walls and researching my de troops now. I am pretty advanced TH9 but my heroes are only L10 each which it seems is low on this forum! I was lazy with my golem and valk upgrades at TH8 so am now catching up with them as they are low level. I have 100 L9 walls done but want a few more and then 40 L10 walls before upgrading. Honestly, I love my heroes but think I'll only take them to L15 each before going to TH10... maybe even less if I get bored with de hunting.

When I finally max my defenses [ex walls]. I will focus on DE and whatever gold I get will be a bonus for walls.
If you're a fairly active player then I'd recommend getting walls to at least Skull and then focus mainly on Heroes while doing a few extra walls here and there.
When you start doing heroes you'll notice that with 2 builders tied up on them you only have 1 to 3 builders on your base which slows down the progression. So long as you're happy with that then it works out well because your defences are upgrading slowly you'll find yourself with extra gold so you can still work on walls a bit as well.
Despite losing them for months I'm very happy to have level 20+ heroes now.
maybe lvl 11 walls I can't but heroes are not hard to max, just takes a long time worth of upgrade. As walls, I did 250 lvl 9's in 12 days boosted (th10), once I max defences I'll do lvl 10's but they not that important to me right now.Quote:

i think heroes won this one. as a th9, i focused mainly on heroes, and since i only have 3 builders for defenses, i had extra gold for all level 9 walls and some for 10. with higher level heroes, you can farm for gold easier imo.
also, if you guys don't mind. i would like to visit unity elite for a few weeks after i max heroes at th9 and try to farm for level 10 walls. i hate farming for walls so any tips and tricks to doing them faster would be highly appreciated.

They both require a different resource to upgrade. So, as you get the DE, upgrade your heroes. As you get the gold, upgrade your walls. There really is not a way to vote on which is more important.

But they are really incomparable since one is offense and the other is for defense. It's like comparing a spear and a shield.
Walls only help on defense.
Heroes help a lot on Defense AND a lot on offense.

In a game that heavily favors the "spear" hehe :D My TH8 acc's L8 BK (Yes it's low) is noticeable stronger than my TH7's L1 BK. Plus that Iron Fist ability is fantastic with barch!Quote:

With the new abilities, Heroes have a bigger advantage.
If you only want to use heroes for defense then do walls. But other than that I say heroes are the way to go. BK specifically for its ability
I never farm for DE, I only go for gold.
But since I'm using BARCH, it's unbelievable how much DE gets piled up while my concentration isn't even there (loot bonus helps a lot too).
So eventually, without any gems used, both of my heroes are upgrading to level 35's
and my wall farming has paid off to 13 zap walls, 200 lava walls, 37 lvl9 walls at the moment.
By the beginning of next month, I'll have all lava walls with 24 zap walls and maxed out heroes - just from farming gold (and not trying to concentrate on one aspect).
When I listen to some of my friends who've already maxed out heroes, they really have no reason to farm DE anymore, so many of them turn into trophy hunters instead.
Actually, that might not work, Usually all the 2k+ DE raids I get, only give me like 36k gold, or at most 150k gold, but it depends on the TH level really.Quote:
