You put your tesla(s) next to your TH.

You put your tesla(s) next to your TH.
Why not? This makes it so that the attacker has less troops to farm your base, if he/she decides to loot it and snipe your Town Hall.
2 things
1. Welcome to the forums.
2. Everyone has their own ideas of what they want to accomplish. Just because you're sniping town halls and get burned by teslas and lose doesn't mean the person isn't a farmer.
Everyone has their own reasons for what they do.
You could very well be a farmer if you put teslas around your town hall. Everyone has there own ideas on what to do. Some people do it to troll. Others do it to maintain trophy balances (even though you are sacrificing a shield).
more like a troll-farmer.
You don't need a town hall outside to be a farmer. But I know the tesla thing can be annoying.
your name is Jorge Yao:rolleyes:
or at least that's what I thought this would say...
Everyone can be a farmer. When you need gold more than trophies, you're a farmer.
I'd say technically *any* raid (by *anyone*) where your sole purpose for attacking is to gain resources and are not worried about winning or losing trophies makes that a farming raid
Whatever you do or do not do on defense has no bearing on if you are a Farmer or not.
you know you've got balls when your second post on the forum is so opinionated... and wrong for that matter.
Teslas around an otherwise unguarded townhall? IMO just wasteful, that firepower could be used elsewhere, however it doesnt mean that one is not a farmer.
though I personally dont place my around my TH I know that some people do and though it isn't the most effective use of firepower it has no effect on your title as a farmer.
P.S. it may have an effect on you as a smart farmer

Keep Clashn' Guys
Nothing gets a farmer more butthurt than stealing trophies AND loot. So, putting defenses/traps usually eliminates that possibility and makes the attacker choose one or the other. Usually, not always though...
Farming and free shield are totally different, bud.
I think everyone has at some point lol
I even went to someone's clan that had done that and started giving him "advice" on how not to put 4 Giant Bombs and 4 teslas near his Town Hall, I left because they were getting mad of all the Wall Breakers in their Clan Castles
anyone can be a farmer. I've seen people farm at 200 cups and at Champions League. Ive seen farmers that keep their storage on the outside of their base
who gives a ♥♥♥♥ haha I think it is ♥♥♥ing funny when lvl3 archers fail on my TH with 4 lvl7 teslas
I do it for laughs...when someone like you fails at attacking a town hall surrounded by teslas
No the OP is right. If you do that you are a TROLL!
You aren't a farmer if you have above 4500 trophies
I love TH trapping to draw in the snipers. I just redid my base from a hog-trap base to a partially exposed TH trap and so far it is 3 for 3. Nothing like max level teslas wiping out a more than 100 barbs or archers only to have a few giants try to kill the teslas... but wait, they just sprung into infinity. Good times :)
I remember when I first started playing and I was pushing to 1250 to get my gems I fell for SO MANY of these same traps. Payback I suppose but I love it!
don't average this.

It's a good way to not get a shield and/or get zapped. If that's what you're going for.
Or if your base looks like this

This could be a fun game!
You aren't a farmer if:
...you don't own at least one pair of overalls.
...your work boots don't have ♥♥♥♥ caked all over them.
...you've never assisted in the birth of a calf.
...your baseball hat doesn't advertise a tractor company.
...you don't use bandanas as fashion accessories.
Apologies to actual farmers who play the game, but my point is... I think we're beyond these labels. ;)
Cheers!
In response to the OP, yes you are still considered a farmer. Your just mad cuz you got pwned by them. Lol!
surrounding your th with teslas and traps is perfectly fine, there is a reason I BARCH with max lightning spells
If I drop a troop and you have teslas there, I stop attacking your town hall and then launch a full out attack on your base, whatever you have and generally wipe it out. I wont continue to be an idiot and drop a few at a time and hope to take the TH, I just go all out and wipe the base out
...you dont know what BAM stands for.
Are you kidding the guy asks you a question and you have to judge his OPINION. Everyone has one even you and some people may disagree with yours but why must you criticize his opinion.
You don't use triple lightning on DE storages.
Someone looking to farm your base isn't going to waste much time on the TH. If they are looking for loot and they think they can get it from you, they will attempt to do so.
The vast majority of the people doing these attacks against vulnerable THs are ones looking to use a couple of troops to take out the TH giving them easy trophies and you an easy shield.
Why make it harder then it has to be? All you're doing is taking the chance that you'll aggravate them causing a potentially successful all out assault or make them actually stop their attack. This either turns what would've been a free shield into a potential loot loss situation or leaves your village vulnerable to someone who will simply flatten it.
I will sometimes snipe a th for the 23k gold and elixer but always check two things first.
1/ Do they have enough loot that it is worth taking out the base
2/ Do they have mutimode infernos
If the anwser is yes and no then I drop my queen if she takes any damage from traps I 3 star the base, if she takes no damage I take the th and leave.
Depending on the range and how strong your base is. The key point here is that exposed townhall attract weak players who're pushing.
If you're at silver > gold II, sure no one cares about trophies and very likely they will raid the base if their armies are strong enough.
If you're at gold I (where there're lots of low townhall sniping up to crystal), people won't care so much about your loot anymore, they'll aim for the trophy instead. Of course there're quite a few th9 and 10 farming in this range, but there're also lots of th8 and lower sniping townhall for trophy.
In higher trophy range (around crystal), in order to guarantee a 1* victory, weak players go for the townhall instead of 50% strong base. So most of the time, they'll try to win the townhall at all costs. There's a higher risk in going all out and lose than spending a couple more troops to get a 1*. Even if you have nothing to protect your base, many times people just go all out anyway to get the 2* victory.
Higher up at master and above, this is useless, as the majority of people up there are strong.
I sometimes put my teslas outside when I'm bored, and 99% of the time, nobody even touches the rest of my base. The remaining 1%, they failed.
Also, if you have nothing in your storage, then why the hell not putting a couple of teslas near the hall to watch enemies squeal in misery, lol.
Ovaltine?

That's GOLD!
Alternately why make it easier than it has to be?
I have maxed defences with 4 teslas encircling my exposed TH. If someone attacks my base, they're not doing me a favour. They're trying to do one of two things, either gets cups or resources. I've farmed 750m gold since we started counting and once it's mine I ensure it stays mine.
I'm not concerned about an all out assault and I'm certainly not concerned if they stop attacking. Given, the situation I am in is not the same as someone with lower defence levels, but it does illustrate that the strategy does have some very successful applications.
Tell that to 2 of the last 3 who tried just that and failed miserably both times. They both fell for the trap hall, then regrouped on the other side and got wiped out there. Believe it or not some people can manage a base with a trap hall and solid defense all other places. (The third was 35 L5 hogs with L20 heroes so I had no chance anyways on that one.)
Farming has nothing to do with Town Halls. It's all about the resources. Basically being a farmer is the same as being a goblin.
I see that you lump all your goodies together.
If a Th8 drops 3 lightenings there, he could walk away with 100k gold and 1k DE.
You, on the other hand, won't get a lot from a Th8.
If it's the Th7 that does the zapping, you are completely out of your luck.
what even defines what a farmer is really? You gotta learn to ask the deep questions :)
You aren't a farmer if your Heroes' levels are lower than your TH level.
Being a Farmer is a state of mind. It has nothing to do with base layout, TH position or even trophy range.
If you value resources more than cups and play in a way that maximises your base as quickly as possible then assuming you dont prematurely upgrade your TH - id say you are 100% farming.
I loved zapping people who wanted an easy few cups from me...nothing in life is free...there is often a catch! I dond mind teaching people this lesson from time to time ;)
Not only does it increase your chances of getting zapped, but it's also counterproductive. If you put your town hall outside you want a free shield, so why put (waste) defenses out there to lower your chances of getting one?
Some people are under the impression that it's helpful because then it lowers the chance of an all out attack because the attacker has less troops. When most attackers see the teslas they'll stop placing troops then all out attack. So in reality you've cost them only a couple of troops and increased your chances of getting attacked. Not only that but you're also throwing away 4 very high DPS defenses, just hope the person taking out your town hall doesn't have PEKKAs.
I wouldn't label the person "not a farmer"...just not a smart player.
