That's the problem with these discussions. One group or another starts to develop a hostile tone.

We can all agree to play the way we want, without resorting to shaming.

Now don't get me wrong I will not take more than I need, but if there are 6 or more items that I need I will take them, the game mechanics allow it you know!

I can understand someone getting upset if an unknown person on a helpers tab keeps coming coming back and continually taking items they have put in there for their friends but there has been some very helpful tips and good advice on how to deal with those kind of players...but...

Please don't upset other genuine helpful players by dictating how many items they should take. Only have friends who accept your gameplay and then there will be no need to put up silly demands on your RSS!

It is totally arrogant for someone to tell you that only neighbors are aloud to shop, or only take 4 maximum, don't hoard, hoarding=delete. The one thing I like about this game is there are no rules when it comes to the DD or RSS. I help a lot of boats every day, and like tigg, I will use my last fish and chips to help fill a crate. I enjoy helping my neighbors. I too wonder why anyone would care who buys what? I don't care! I buy what I want, I don't do a clean out unless it's tape! God I love tape! And can't find a one! Please release the tape! Tigg I like being your neighbor, and miss you when you are not around on the forum. Raid and shop me anytime.

I would like to address the boat crates. As a rule I open one of each whether I can fill it or not. I consider it good manners to share XP with my neighbors as they do with me. Well said, I do the same with crates. I play with the help bar open and always try to help, usually by the time I get to your farms Tiggerr they are done:rolleyes: Sorry I could not help with the bread this morning.
I too fill my stand usually 3 times a day or whenever I do a boat and everyone can help themselves - if it is for sale please buy:)
I am aware that the time difference can make it awkward and I miss seeing a lot of some players.

Yes Tigg...that is exactly what I meant.

They offer no incentive to keep returning to help them (for those who may need it).

But please...keep this one factor in context with my complete comment. I was making a point about certain farms who consistently have a "care" score close to zero...( including any interest in their own farms and their 'helpers', F & N)

I admit that very recently I have been guilty of asking my F&N to 'save' an item...(stockfeed), if it was accidentally missed by a particular F&N who I was helping.

They were only able to stock/sell this one product due to an over-zealous "boat event" visitor, who forced this friend to close their RSS.

In such extreme circumstances, I didn't think it too unreasonable to ask my other F&N to leave any feed that was forgotten, awaiting collection, or in the midst if being collected? This was a one-off situation, which is for them, thankfully over!

Now perhaps my request seemed unreasonable to some...however, I was merely trying to help out another...in an awful situation.

I guess its all perspective then?

Lastly, folk often use trees as stated, to flag the attention of particular F&N's. They then get added as 'the most recent' helper on the LH list (instead of dropping off altogether), thus allowing for faster access to them, instead of scrolling thru umpteen avatars on your different lists for somebody you have regular contact with.

I don't know how many people play the game globally but I'd like to bet only a very tiny percentage are on this forum and even then they may not know or care about the 'etiquette' of shopping, filling crates, watering trees, etc. For the vast majority of those who farm/play, these instructions/commands will mean little and they will do as they please, raiding, watering, helping (or not) as they see fit. In a nutshell... If you don't want any random passer by or undesirable neighbours to buy your premium items, don't put them up for grabs!!

To all my neighbours who are gracious enough to help my trees, bushes, boats and buy from my shop, I thank you for your assistance and custom. I only hope I don't annoy you by filling too many crates or watering all your trees.

Oh yeah, and for those who don't like my comments and are my neighbours... if you choose to unfriend me that's your prerogative, dears. Don't forget your brolly, it's raining outside! ;)

I'm afraid that I am guilty of changing my farm name, but in my defence it wasn't out of arrogance but frustration. I was trying to give a message to two people who we're wiping me out every time I filled my shop. The problem is now solved now that I have unfriend them. Why I didn't think of that earlier goodness knows. I also know that if it's in my shop it's up for sale but I do like to sell to a few people instead of just a couple. It's just the way I like to play the game. And while I'm talking about playing the game; I also get annoyed when high level players buy all the deeds etc I put in the shop, hopefully to help the lower levels. Maybe they have lower level friends of their own they want to help! Again this is now solved with a pm and a fairy godchild. Sorry to rant and sorry to offend.

In all honesty I have so many friends and followers now that I don't have a chance to go through the RSSs all that often. Hmm, perhaps I need to do a clear out if inactive players. But unlike you Tigerr, I have a ♥♥♥♥ memory - can't even remember who I last bought things from unless they are a regular supplier. If I go past 3 times I'm likely to clear out their shop unintentionally anyway!

It is an interesting topic, with many varied views...but it seems that the majority agree on one thing...we're all happy to help fill boat crates.
As for the debatable sugar and dairy crates...can be a tough call when 1/2 your F&N do, and 1/2 don't fill these boats.
Im learning that you just cant please everybody all the time. Thank goodness for that too!

I posted on another thread about the general 'care factor' of some players toward their farms (and their helpers), and how that disengages the helper.
I then came here and reiterated one point from the other thread about empty RSS's when you go to fill crates.
I didnt intend to point the finger at anyone who happens to do this one thing...for whatever reason?
To be honest, Ive just confused my threads and had a brain freeze by repeating one point from several I made on the other thread...hence my reply about "taking my point in context".

Nearly 12 months on and 21 levels higher I play totally differently .

I now have a lot more friends & don't have to rely on my followers as much. Also since the introduction of the help tab , I personally think this has an impact on the speed of the help we receive. I usually keep my tab open while I'm farming & when a friend pops up for help I'm straight there. Theses days I get more enjoyment out of helping my neighbours than filling my boats.

Also I don't always fill my RSS when I've a boat in, why ? I don't really know . Usually I'm off searching for the stuff I haven't got in stock to fill my crates.

You've now gave me a complex :p And from now on I will always have that 1 cornbread sat in my RSS just for you Hun :p

I too agree the LH tab has its benefits...I keep mine open (as often as I can remember too), and also find it has brought extra speed to the helping side of things...
But, I do get a tad miffed when Im interrupted from a farming chore to help someone, and arrive at their farm only to find the helping is done! So back I trudge...get home start a chore, and then ding, ding, ding...the help alert again! So off I go...only to find... You get the picture!?! Reckon Ive lost about 40 (cyber) kilos from all the two-ing and fro-ing in my gumboots! LOL

As or your corn-bread (hun)...I'll take it!
After my recent experience, cornbread and I have a pretty special thing happening!
