I'd advise you to get your key defences pumped up from the start (max out xbows, WTs and preferably teslas) while not doing many walls - at least not if they're delaying your upgrades. Once those defences are done, you will have an easier time defending, and can start working on walls simultaneously as defences - if you choose not to max teslas right away, teslas can go nicely with walls due to the long upgrade time and low cost. I wouldn't keep one builder on wall duty since that will slow your progress down, but if you choose to do all defenses and then walls, you will have idle builders for a very long time. So, max key defs and upgrade walls little by little alongside defenses / between upgrades. Enjoy the grind ;)
Winning hog defenses at M3 as well, you should change your layout. I'm sure that if it's a TH10 who really knows how to hog he can smash my base, but the point is that there aren't many decent hoggers even at m3, they all reside higher up. So no, you're not completely helpless against hogs, you just shouldn't expect to be able to defend against them with a regular farming base. Hogs jumping walls means they're not regular in the least.Quote:

If you guys decided to switch to an anti-hogs layout then yeah, it should do what is designed to do. I had my share of failed attacks with the one I have and out of like 5 attacks only 2 managed to 3 star me, rest failed miserably. :)
In a regular layout getting 3 stared is something normal for this OP combo, unless your attacker has no clue on what to do and dumps all hog raiders on the same spot and hopes for the best.
Anyway, isn't worth changing anything at this point as I've finished maxing out everything for quite some time now and got stuck at doing level 9 walls and heroes from time to time when enough DE piles up. :)

Currently I am doing level 9 walls, about 170 atm and I have all my builders free. I have still some upgrades to do, 4 AT to level 11, 4 Canons to lvl 11 and a tesla. When I am done with my level 9 walls, I'll be doing level 10 walls and simultaneously the few upgrades that still need to be done. I don't care about sleeping builders.
I finished my walls to level 9 yesterday and I just started upgrading my heroes. I maxed all my buildings first, then I could focus on just doing my walls to level 9. My heroes are not well upgraded though, I got BK level 12 and AQ level 14 so I am going to max them and then do walls to level 10.
Short said, max out buildings and then go for walls.
There are plenty of elixir upgrades in th9, dump 8M gold into walls every time you do one. Dump the remainder of your 8M after a gold upgrade into walls as well.
i personally have just been doing walls. I have 4/4 builders free and im progressing pretty fast. Im happy with my defences for now. Ill admit it gets a little boring
So I have 5 builders the way I do it is simple. I plan my upgrades so that there is 1 or 2 days time between upgrade finishes, that way every 1 or 2 days a builder comes free. During that 1 or 2 days I start farming a few hours before upgrade finishes and max out my gold storage. When builder comes free I reserve for example 1.6mil gold for an upgrade, use the rest on walls and then start the upgrade. I never have sleeping builders like that and it's also no risk since I have loads of free time I'm able to stay on the whole time while farming.
Never keep a sleeping builder. Mix n match ur upgrades so tht every 2d tops, ud get a free builder. Make sure u have full storages by then. Spend on walls, leaving just enough for the next upgrade. Good luck!
