Wall farming strategy for TH 9

Which one is better, maxing all defense turrets first and then camping for wall farming, or...use 1 free builder to upgrade walls whilst waiting for any upgrade to be done.

I used 1 free builder strategy to max out all of my skull walls, i am still TH 8 now and will upgrade my TH soon. I know it is difference between TH 8 and TH 9, in TH 8 wall's price is 500k, and upgrades cost only arond 2000k, and for TH 9, lego walls cost 1000k each and upgrades cost is so damn high (3000k-5000k).

For me, i think it's better to max out everything and camping to max walls, but i need input and opinions here, thanks before.

I like keeping one builder free and doing walls as I simultaneously do defensive upgrades. Although defenses are more of a priority than walls, I like to see progression in my base, which is evident when I do wall upgrades. Usually when I have 3 builders going for longer upgrades, 8+ days, I use my one builder and dedicate farming to walls while my upgrades are still going. However as an upgrade gets closer to its completion 1-2 days prior, I usually max out my storages and dump some gold into walls and then the rest into my next upgrade.

But overall, it all depends on whether you want Lvl9 walls or if you just want to have lv8 walls but max out defenses.

What Im doing right now is 3 builders for the defense bldg and 1 for walls. Since I only have the AD and tesla to worry about and it takes time to wait for those so I farmed for walls while I await for my def ... About 2 days left before it finishes up that's when I save for the next def upgrade :)

I have always kept one builder for walls too and done them when the upgrades are going.. Some people frown on this "sleepy builder" policy, but it has always worked well for me, and the defence upgrades were still done way way before walls finished at th9..

i dont think there can really be any other strategy for wall farming other than leaving a builder idle exclusively for walls, unless you have some projects that only last 1 or 2 days, which seems unlikely.

Having high level walls will help at deterring some attackers, delay ground troops and most important force your attackers to use more wall breakers than they wanted in the first place. But, if you have low level defenses then the level of walls will make little to no difference.

So, by maxing out everything while at TH 8 your chances to survive better as a fresh TH 9's will be a lot better than some poor sucker that rushed things with gems. The road ahead will be a lot harder and painful. With determination and hard work anything is possible, even level 10 walls that cost 3 millions a piece. :)

You will be visited by hog raiders sooner or later, and if you will get 3 stared don't be upset cos there's little to nothing you can do at TH 9 so take it as it is. :rolleyes:

I tried to plan my builders so that one would come free on a day when I could play for a long period. It's sometimes slow progress but I got there in the end. Really don't think there's a wrong or a right way in doing it. If you wanna get it done you will in the end👍👍

This is not true: Base layout is the key. I am a th9 with max defence and about 20 lvl9 walls left. I am currently in master 3 (we are pushing) and every hog attack is failing at my layout

I max upgraded all buildings and now only farm walls. It made more sense to me to do it that way as the building upgrade costs are much higher and it would annoy me for example if I got carried away upgrading walls and couldn't save up enough gold for next building upgrade when a builder became available.

On the flip side of that, its a bit depressing constantly having 5 free builders when now I am only farming lvl9 walls. The only time I use builders now is when upgrading hero's.

if you don't raid enough to be sat on full storages then I would imagine both are equal, as you have the same amount of gold to spend, you just do stuff in a different order.

If you have max storages then the 1 builder free approach seems more efficient as you can always spend the surplus - there's no down time waiting for a builder to free up.

That's said you can periodically switch to DE farming which will slow down gold production under the turrets first strategy.
