He is having trouble getting loot and is wondering what troops and trophy range he should use so he gave you his clan and ign so that you could check it out and see whats gone wrong

Hi there! This is my farming base I've designed for TH6. Would really like some help with trap placements and overall your guys opinions on it

This is my farming base (TH5). I just wanted some tips.
I like it!
But in my opinion it doesn't make sence to put the CC in the core as a TH 5. You don't have enough buildings to make it unlurable or hard to lure. So change the CC with the goldstorage in the first layer and switch the moved storage with the air Defense in the core.
The clan castle isn't completely centered. At town hall 6 you might as well not have it in the core.

The junctions aren't that good (the t junctions are touching eachother)
Again, I wouldn't try to center the clan castle. Maybe switch it with the WT.

I was gone most of yesterday, but I'm back and I can rate bases again. :)
Was maxing my TH7 with this base, but I don't like it to much
Also you can change the WT with the cannons on the sides of the storages

Haven't played a lot so I didn't understand farming vs trophy hunting at first. Also I'm not sure I did this tinypic thing right, to make it show an image instead of a link....
Still working on upgrading the walls and defenses, have I got a decent arrangement of collectors sprinkled among the mortars/cannons/ad/at/wt?
Bombs by the corners and teslas seem to be attracting attacks but I haven't got the compartments figured out after they get past that - they seem to go for the inner walls instead of the collectors in the secondary ring.
I was thinking of moving the extra/doubled walls to make funnels for the corners and teslas, would that improve it or would more compartments on the second/collector ring be better defense?
Ok, for starters, your base is pretty premature. It's going to take quite a bit of time to fix. Read this thread to get you started. The short version of it is that you will need to upgrade your army camps and farming troops via the lab. The rest of your base will follow as you get better at raiding for loot. DO NOT upgrade your town hall again until your entire base is near maxed out. There are reasons to upgrade earlier, but you need to learn to play the game first. Upgrading before you are ready will irreparably hamstring you and you will likely have to start over.
As far as base design goes, the current state of your defenses means that you are going to be an easy target for quite some time. There's no base design that will change this. However, there are still better base designs than what you are currently using and I'd suggest searching for one on this forum and using it until you understand troop AI better. Orz has 3 nice TH8 designs. This is a link to one of his bases, scroll down to the end of his post for links to the 2 others. Oh yeah, use a farming base. This means your Town Hall goes outside your walls for the cheap 12 hr shield. I can't emphasize this enough, DO NOT PROTECT YOUR TOWN HALL WITH WALLS OR TRAPS. You are a very long way away from having a reason to protect your town hall.
After you get better at playing, you can start to think about designing your own base. Here are two good threads on base design.

Made this one from scratch this morning... using ideas from previous bases I've been successful with, and have seen used by others. Wanted to try to avoid CC and hero luring, and funnel through multiple layers of traps to get to the core.
Attacked once so far, 43 hogs and heroes. I ended up gaining 29 cups and lost less than a thousand in resources total, and you can see my elixir is maxxed. Any feedback appreciated.

Evening all, Wish I found this site when I started playing, I wouldn't have upgraded nh TH like a man posessed, anyway what's done is done.
Would appreciate a bit of help with my layout, I'd guess from reading lots of posts on here I'm farming, so I can play catch up on my upgrades

I agree. pretty nice base, but if you could find a way to make x junctions to T, it would be better.
My opinion is that the elixir storages are too easy to hit and you might want to make some of your storage compartments connected, it would take care of 2 noticable x conjunctions.

Base was designed on a couple of the SKY 9's clan members, just tweaked it to make it more farming friendly!!

@OP: sorry I cant post a pic now, but all the info to my base is in my sig. except im in a clan called "Blue Meanies" right now. its the real Blue Meanies (like lots of members - usually 48-50)
I don't care about gold since I just have walls left, nor elixir either cuz I finished all of them, and for DE, im trying to protect it. usually I have the CC and DE storage swapped but since I don't have too much DE and a dragon in my CC, its like that. the 2 by 2 gaps IN my base are all lvl 6 teslas. all the other gaps IN my base are 6 lvl 4 bombs, 6 spring traps, 4 lvl 3 air bombs and 2 lvl 1 seeking air mines (placed strategically). the giant bombs are hiding on the sides so that don't get activated so I don't have to rearm them.
thanks! so really I'm focusing on DE and gold, but since I don't have too much gold to have stolen (since walls are 500K a piece), my base is only focusing on DE. and like I said the DE storage and CC are usually swapped.

Great Mini guild! Another helpful post on designing bases!
First I would spread out your collectors and alternate them.
Try to make better use of your traps. Incorporate funnels into your base so they have to go over the spring traps instead of possibly setting off the ones outside of your base.
Put the seeking air mines a bit farther out; if a healer or drag has gotten that far in your base, it's already done too much.
The archer tower in the compartment under your TH seems a little out of place; try to make use of it's range and put the archer towers and cannons in a star pattern.
Lastly try to have each wizard tower covering 1 gold storage and 1 elixir storage, the splash will help mass infantry from overwhelming your storages.

People with high level troops will take your loot regardless of base type. A farming base will give you 12 hour shields that can potentially help you avoid these players. As for the base you posted, I'd either cover your TH with the teslas or spread them out more.

This is a farming base me and a friend made a while ago, and ever since we created it, both of us have used it. It is no doubt the best TH9 farming base I've used. It works well against everything, hogs, loons, BAM, giant/healer etc..
(I have 2 wiz towers and 1 xbow upgrading right now, but let's pretend that they are upgraded, heh)
I have never been 100%:ed with this base, the highest ever was 78% and that was created by balloonions with 3 rage and 2 healingspells. But no one have ever been over 70% except him.
But however, I know there are some "Don'ts" in this base, but it works more than fine anyways.
But please tell me if you see something that can become improved! :)
(I'm thinking on doing a thread for this base, showing how we thought and how it's meant to work, is the base that good?)

WHAT I LIKE: Centralized CC, Little # of T-Junctions, Large Spawn Line, Symmetrical
WHAT I DON'T LIKE: Bad placement of traps, exposed army camps, some storages easy to get to, Wiz tower not next to TH, Non-centralized air defence.
I am attacked by a lot of TH6, and I've gotten 100%'ed by healers, giants and archers. How to improve?

Bottom Air Defense and Wizard Towers are pretty exposed. Storages are also near the outside of the base, seem kinda easy to get to.
Exposed archer tower at the top isn't a good thing, and I'd swap the archer towers with the cannons inside the walls so the range better covers your army camps.
Also I may have missed it but I don't think I see a 3rd tesla.

So im still TH7 but leveld alot of stuff(Other than wall, still working on that). Just 2 cannons and 2 Archer towers and 1 Air Defences left to level then my wall. But here is a layout im debating on trying. Jus ttjrew it together and want some opinions.
