Definition of farming.

Hey there folks. I'm curious if there is any "official" definition of farming within the CoC community? By this, I don't mean what you think it means (as that is all anyone is telling me lately and claiming it is official or common sense), but an actual definition laid out for the SC staff/game developers/etc? If so can you please pass on share the link please as I've looked but failed to find it (which doesn't mean too terribly much).

Even within my clan farming has different meaning with many people and here I've been getting grilled constantly for my thoughts on the matter. That being said, I've met a few people who shared my view on what farming means. To me personally, there is just more to clash than strictly "pushing" or "farming".

So, if possible can anyone please direct me to the meaning of "farming" within the community. Thanks so much and clash on!

In clash that is interrupted to focusing on getting resources as efficiently as possible.

From what I have heard, farming means going for resources and not for trophies, and not caring if you lose a raid. You go to a league where you can get nice loot for your th level and get resources, instead of trophie pushing.

When you focus more on collecting resources for upgrades than chasing trophies you are farming.

No.. there is no official definition of farming in the game... farming is just a general term used by gamers in any game in regards to maximizing resource collection.. whether it be killing low lvl creeps in games like warcraft or wow... or lowering trophies to loot from low lvl th's in coc :)

Thank you so much for the few answers already. If this is a vague and generic gamer term then why do people here on the forums (as it's not just me) get harped on when they have their own version of what farming means?

Does this mean there is absolutely no middle ground between trophy pushing and farming?

The middle ground typically get's termed 'hybrid', where you try do a bit of both.

Those who focus on dark elixir in Masters are probably the closest thing to middle ground. As DE is plentiful up there, and you have to keep your trophies up to stay there.

I guess I best change my signature to hybrid to stop getting harped on then. I may not be a masters clasher but I do go up to 2500 every now and then for fun... and I tried sub-200 the other week but found it incredibly boring. The only time I go below 1600 is to try and find premie TH10 bases to destroy for funsies :) ...

I'm not talking about the base though. I'm talking about the game play when it comes to offense. I know that many people say they have hybrid bases and so forth.
