I am a 85% max TH8 and have almost all my walls to level 7. I have only a few more upgrades before my defenses are max. Should I get all level 8 walls first, or should I go to TH9 as soon as my defenses max?

That really depends. It will take you a while to get those upgraded. Fastest I have seen is 2 weeks, but could easily go up to 2 month. But if you leave them at level7, you will probably never upgrade them at TH9.Quote:

As you can see around the forums there are quite a few complaint threads regarding the loot system.
Currently, if you are a TH8, it is going to be much easier to farm the gold and to finish your walls.
You also said your defenses are almost done so you can jump onto the walls right away while finishing off a few other things.
Once you go to TH9 you will be hit with slightly worse loot penalty and the upgrades are going to be much more expensive than TH8, meaning your gold storage won't be filled anytime soon.
I would highly recommend finishing your skull walls before going to TH9 and you will have a smoother transition.

Honestly if you haven't done your walls yet, what makes you think you will do them now quickly? I don't think it is worth leaving builders and your lab idle for weeks while farming walls.
I am so happy I did all mine before moving up as they have helped out heaps. From having to use more wb to break in, or even the intimidation factor they can pose I think it's worth it IF you have the time and desire to do so. Only two people in my clan bothered at all.

It's simple, if you're a regular player who just plays a little every now and then, don't bother, it will take too long, but if you're a wall junkie like me, GO For maxed walls.
It all depends on you. I would say definitely get walls to seven, but the amount of time and gold it would take to do walls level 8 is your decision
This is a highly debatable question. If you are willing and sure that you will be playing CoC for the next coming months or so and want to have your base near maxed before you quit, do it. If you aren't willing to take on the challenge, I suggest finish all your lvl 7 walls and then get 1/4 walls to lvl 8, they are a valuable wall level to have in a base and start playing the intimidation factor. I got all my walls to lvl 8 upgrading and sure glad at th9 I don't have to log on to lvl 7 walls everyday, which doesn't seem to fit with th9's theme. Follow what you say in this case, not what others say. Good luck!
If you're going to upgrade them to lvl 8 eventually, I'd recommend knocking out at least most of them before moving to TH9. If you're going to be sitting on full DE storage for a while though, it may be best to just upgrade now and spare yourself the steamrolling from TH9's while you try to upgrade walls.
