Analysis of how disco infernos affect different play styles
Disclaimer this will probably be long
There always seem to be a couple of people who jump and defend disco infernos giving silly reasons like use bigger troops (which if they actually thought about doesn’t work, have you ever tried attacking with 8 golems?) or getting a better strategy (when asked and I have asked over 15 people who have defended them not one has been able to name that “better strategy” instead they suddenly go quiet).
I was going to start a thread asking those who defend them why? But rather thought maybe I would do some objective (debatable perhaps) analysis of how they affect the different play styles.
About me. I am currently a nearly maxed TH9 with L30 heroes and about 6 building till max, L8 walls with 35 at L9. I am a pretty big gemmer but don’t like having to use gems just to do a normal raid (ie wake up heroes). I am also a farmer (not hard-core maybe 10 raids a day), I won’t use gems for gold or elixir and always farm it (currently about 500m gold grab) In about a month I will be TH10 with two L3 inferno’s, max freeze spell and L40 heroes, I had intended to stay at Th9 to finish walls but see no reason now. My opinion is disco infernos are the biggest issue in this game and even though I will be in the best position possible to deal with them I still think they need to be nerfed badly.
The different play styles and how disco infernos affects them.
High end cup chasers, M1+: In this range using 5 spells, maxed heroes etc has pretty much always been the norm. Freezing inferno towers was normally done anyway. Has made mass dragons a bit more viable if a base has infernos on muti and reduced the chance of getting a two star with balloon and minion armies. Has made it much harder for TH9’s to complete. Overall I would say the change to inferno towers has made next to no difference here, 1-2 star wins where the norm prior and are still the norm now.
Bad TH10 cup chasers: Prior to the change they would have been beaten a lot and if they were no good at attacking would have struggled to get too even C2. Now they can sit back and defend their way to about masters 3 just with these two towers. Overall I think these people love the change.
TH10 Farmers: They can pretty much guarantee their loot will not be taken. However they now have to settle for raiding only every 2-3 hours if they want to take on TH10’s or fight exclusively TH9’s. This change means although their loot is safer finding a good raid is a lot harder (I think this is more the reason they see bad loot rather than the loot changes). Effectively they have half the targets they had prior, compounded with TH9’s taking some since they can’t fight TH10’s finding a decent loot TH9 becomes a real challenge. When you do it is normally someone like me J where you have to use 4-5 spells, heroes etc. Overall I think this change was a real killer for TH10 farming and is the main reason I haven’t gone yet.
Bad TH10 farmers: These people probably struggled to beat TH10’s prior to the update. Now they can feel safe that no one is going to take their loot and since they never fought TH10’s previously anyway they don’t feel it has affected their loot. In reality it probably has because everyone is forced to go for TH9’s now so the amount of decent targets has reduced. They probably don’t understand the game well enough to get this and blame the bad loot on the loot change not the inferno change. Overall these people probably love the change but if they really thought about it they would realise it hurts them too.
TH9’s: Whether it be loot or cups a maxed TH9 is now easier than even a prem TH10. These people now have a huge bull’s-eye on them both from TH9’s and TH10’s. Probably get very frustrated by being raided by prem TH10’s but unable to fight back. Overall I would think these people hate the change
TH8-: The forums are a free place for people to express their opinions so I am sure these people are adding their opinions. Unfortunately they have no experience and their opinions are based on what is on paper not reality which can be very different. I know when I first read about the change I thought big deal, 5 targets 40 or so dps doesn’t sound bad until I saw my first giant/wizard army whipped out by one tower.
Conclusion: The only reason I can see that anyone would defend multimode inferno towers is if they are a bad TH10 cup pusher or a misinformed bad Th10 farmer.
